Arrival Story:
Ash came to live with us as a companion for our other cat Tavish. He was a "hoarders" cat, one of 35 cats in a 25ft trailer. He had no whiskers, and did not walk on his feet but the tips of his paws, and he did not open his eyes, but squinted. It took weeks before I could touch him. First I would go into his room and just stand, for just a moment as he would throw himself at the walls, once he stopped bouncing off the walls, I would sit and talk, when I could get close I would just sit, then one day I touched him and when I did he shivered as if he was going to fit. Now he climbs our legs and the other day sat on my knee. I cried. He is a wonderful cat, with such a big heart.

After Ash was used to people, enough to share the whole house. His brother Tavish took ill, and would go up to the bedroom to be quiet. Ash carried all Tav's toys up to the room and put them in a circle around Tav, some of the toys were bigger than Ash, but he dragged them up the stairs. He then laid by the door and watched till Tav felt better and the two came downstairs together.

Forums Motto:
No animal was ever born bad!

Ash was a hoarders cat, and was rescued, but was in a bad way. It was not thought we could get him to come round, but he is simply gorgeous, inside and out. Every time he breaks another barrier, it is a wonderful gift. Today he gave a kiss and climbed my leg to get his chicken (he never eats it but lets his Brother have it) But I think he likes the action of being fed :) Never give up, all animals have a greater capacity than we ever realize.

Good Morning to you all
Sorry things have been busy here on the mountain, mum is all better now and is "making up for lost time" I am all better and some what more Zen like. I even sleep with the peeps in the same room and will spend the evening with them on the couch if they are sitting still long enough. I never did this before as you know I have no idea why! I think it was my past just made it seem uncomfortable. Now its GREAT, I lay there on the softest pillow and they stroke my face and back, they are still careful of my bald spot, but its fine. I lay smiling and I even found myself purring, that was funny........I woke myself up and wondered what the noise was. Anyway all is good.
The hens and Charlie Rooster are being good, Penny is looking after everyone, and Murph is.........well Murph. So now mum is better all is right and I am feeling very Zen!
Remember my friends, sometimes happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have!
Stay happy, stay safe, and remain content.

Hello my friends
I am doing real well, my back is almost healed now and apart from not jumping as easily as I did I am GREAT!
I do have a big bold spot on my back, but its growing and mum hopes before it gets to cold the fur will be long enough for me. She said she will knit me a top other wise so I really hope it grows fast, I saw the top she knitted for Dad, we love her but knitting is not her strong point.
For everyone who has asked she is much better now and will be back at work at the weekend, we don't like that at all. But it is good she is able to go.
The autumn feel is in the air now, the chip-monk is making the most of Murph and I being inside and is eating all the chickens food, but we will get out, and the peeps know this between us I think they are shocked to have kept us in this long.
Its been interesting watching out the window at the goings on, and just enjoying the warm sun on my back without having to worry.
Anyway thank you all again for you kindness and good wishes.
Many purrs
Your friend

Hi every one
Sorry mum has been poorly and so I have not been able to use the computer.
But today she is some what better, and I can tell you I am doing very well. I have been sick twice though so the peeps are watchful.
Now I know some of you will be cross with me, but Dad was distracted with looking after Mum and all us furs and feathers so I got out, as did Murphy. We did not let Dad bring us back inside instead we hid from him knowing he would not have enough time to deal with it.
So there we are under the truck when it came back, the fox in the garden. I thought my chest would bust but dare not move. It caught a Black Hen and Charlie Rooster made his Penny come now sounds. Dad was sitting upstairs with Mum as she was to ill to get up. Charlie ran at the fox and Lana hen got away, but the fox caught Charlie, he just laid still in the foxes mouth, I did not know what to do should I go and save him or stay put. The trouble is I am still to slow to be able to out run it. Anyway Dad shouted and ran downstairs with the stick that goes BANG Charlie Roo took his chance and kicked the fox and got free, he ran fast to save his girls and had his wings out standing between them and the fox again moving the hens to the house, and the fox ran up the wall, then went after the other hens who had got split up. He was running fast but Dad let Penny out, and she went like a rocket, that fox ran and she chased, she came back very muddy. I came in and have not been wanting to go out since..............nor has Murp. Charlie Roo and the hens are all doing well although they are a little bit lighter on feathers.
