Arrival Story:
Sid is one of a dozen or so lookalike male cats who were abandoned in October 2011 when their human was evicted from her home. (She took another @10 with her, of whom 5 were subsequently abandoned in a box at the local Petco.) A Catster friend has been feeding and sheltering the ones left behind in her yard, and gradually is having them all neutered. She also has treated them for fleas. Sid already was neutered, and is presumed to be among the eldest. When I met the bunch of them, Siddy was the one who seemed most desperately to want to be indoors again, so he came home with me. I met many of his relatives during my visit, and they are all good-natured, handsome young boycats, many of them recently neutered and given initial shots. If anyone has an interest in these cats in Connecticut, please pawmail me!
Bio:
Sid went to the vet for an initial exam before I released him from quarantine to mingle with the other cats in our family. The vet estimates his age at between 2 and 5 years, and said he is "slim" but appears healthy. His bloodwork is good except for elevated neutrophils and eosinophils (white blood cells) - possibly a result of the fleas he was infested with before my friend started caring for him. He is negative for FIV, FeLV, heartworm and all other parasites.
