Gossy is a mix of Maine Coon and something-or-other, probably a tabby. She's been spayed and loves to talk. She's not a lap-cat but enjoys pettings and rumplings.

Gossy Tales

Lost the irritation, but also lost a friend :(

Dear Catster,

A lot has happened since my last entry. Piper went away to a new home and his new owner named him Ranger. She seemed like a lovely person and he's living in Denver Colorado now. A few months went by and Sunfire, Phoenix, and I settled into our old routine, at least until Sunfire got sick. At first it seemed like it was just his toe, like he broke his claw down into the nailbed, so he had to go to the vet. On his second appointment they found cancer. :( It was really advanced, and up in his pelvic region, which is why the vet didn't feel it at first. It showed up all over his x-ray though.
He passed away on March 21st.
Now it's just me and Phoenix, and I don't have anyone to lick me. My mom decided that Phoenix and I are going to get groomed with Lion Cuts for the spring and I'm not looking forward to that.
I miss Sunfire all the time. It's not the same here without him.
Phoenix chases me occasionally, but it just isn't fun like it used to be.

Piper has found a new home

Dear Catster,

Piper went to stay with a friend of my mom in the hope that he'd have a better chance of being adopted through a bulletin at her work.
It was a good idea!
From the way things look right now, Piper has found a wonderful new mom and he will be the only cat and therefore get all of the attention.
In the meantime, he is staying until the end of this week with my mom's friend.

Wish him the best of luck, every cat!

I'm allergic to my friends

Dear Catster,
Right now my front right leg is twice the size of my left one. It's puffy because I was roughhousing with Sunfire and he nipped me. My skin is really sensitive so I puff up at the tiniest scratches and bites.
Mom's worried about it, but my last two trips to the vet were uneventful. He said "cats will play."
I like to play! I just don't like puffing out. It's annoying.
How would you like your arm to be twice its usual size?
Why do I have to be allergic to things? My fur-siblings don't puff out the way I do when they get scratched.
Maybe I need an allergy pen, but for cats. :/
