Black and White
being back in a home with humans that pet, feed and love him
doesn't like to be disturbed with a lot of petting when napping and any other cat near his food dishes!
he likes to drink from the water faucet and play with the water as it comes out
Favorite Nap Spot:
on the shelf next to his owner's bed
anything eatable- which is why we will have him on a kitty diet soon :)
drinks from water faucet, communicates with eyes and vocally- signs of a real smart kitty!
This is Nicky's daddy (see his profile on the family list). We just recently had to put my boy to sleep and part of our human family of choice that lives here- namely Wilson new owner Brad- was hit hard by the loss. Not only did I have to put Nicky to sleep on that horrible Sunday morning (10/30/11) earlier that day he had received a call from his mother in the UK and sadly a human family member passed away. :( While I had raised Nicky from birth and my grief was intense, Wilson's new owner had double grief that probably far surpassed what I was feeling.
I had looked at the local humane society page, after Nicky died, to check in to volunteer opportunities- I thought that would be a way to help my grief pass. Well I saw the picture of Wilson on their site and the old fella looked so sad in that picture. I showed him to Brad and we decided to go see him.
As soon as I said his name Wilson perked up (he has a little kitty cold but healthy otherwise aside from the weight) and started meowing- as if to say "hey you know my name- are you going to take me home?" Believe it or not he really had a hopeful look in his eyes and he liked Brad as well.
We went home without him that day because we wanted to talk about it more and let him get more treatment at the shelter for his cold. Yesterday (11/5/2011) we went back to get him- an early birthday present from us to Brad and talk about a happy cat.
We stopped in the gift shop to get his new litter box, collar and name tag and when I opened the box you could see the joy in the older kitty's eyes and face. He recognized my voice and literally was overjoyed that we had come back to get him. In the still present sadness of the loss of our dear boy Nicky we have, perhaps, saved a life. So many want to adopt the kittens and bypass the adult cats. If it is not a no kill shelter you know what happens to cats that are not adopted after a good period of time :(
So rest assured Wilson was not brought here to replace Nicky- he is here because he is a heck of a smart cat, definitely a Taurus kitty and already a good companion for Brad. This cat is full of love and gratitude for sure- he loud purr says as much.
We are not certain as to his early history. According to the DVM's assessment Wilson has been here on earth for 8 years. Definitely a Taurus kitty with a little bit of the Gemini communicator in him he seems like a kitty on the cusp. So I asked Wilson if he liked May 16th for a birthday and he let out a little meow and a rub against my leg in approval (really he did that- this is one intelligent cat!) It is apparent that he was definitely someone's house cat before because he was right at home indoors and does not seem to have any desire to run outside. Wilson was long ago neutered so that may be another reason why he prefers indoor living.
Clearly he was well fed- too well fed in fact. At the time of his adoption, according to his medical record, he was a whopping 14 pounds! His diet will be something to stay focused on so he can get down to a healthier weight,
He is a mart kitty- very expressive eyes and a low meow. He is a big purr machine and looks like he would be a scholarly professor if he was human. He name at the shelter was Wilson so since he responded to that we did not change his name- he also responds to Willy.
All in all I could not think of a better birthday present for Brad- he birthday is a few days away from when we got Wilson- and a better companion as well. This is a fantastic adult kitty and I think Nicky approves as well!

Feed Me and I am Yours
The Taurus Kitty:
Taurus cat is all about pleasure, which happens to come in the form of food and then laying around with a full belly. They are grazers and will rarely walk by their bowl without enjoying the savory taste of just one more bite. Most Taurus cats are overweight because they just can't say no to another tasty morsel of food. The food can look bad, smell bad and even taste bad and they will still eat it. Taurus cats are rarely finicky about their food.
The only exercise a Taurus cat is interested in is when he/she decides to get up and walk over there. Either because food is on the other side of the room or there is a more comfortable place to lay down. These cats rarely ever run because that would be like watching a cow run. Cows stand or sit in the pasteur and craze all day long. The real descripture for the Taurus is not actually a bull, it's a cow. A melodious cow. Mooooooo! Therefore, your Taurus cat may even snore you a melodious tune.
Taurus cats are interested in comfort, first and foremost. A comfortable pillow, a warm fireplace and a full bowl of food is all they need and desire. Spending a lot of money on a Taurus cat is simply unnecessary. They are interested in the simple pleasures that Life has to offer (food and a pillow)!
