I got a big surprise this morning when the Mama opened up my mail – I’ve been chosen as a Dreamette!!! I can’t believe it; I must have a fairy catmother or something. First I was chosen out of a dozen other ferals to come live in the Big House with the pawrents and Sleeper and Samhain. And then Snow, who is one of the sweetest and handsomest young kits on Catster, chose ME over lots of other prettier cats to be his valentine for Valentine’s Day (and we’re STILL friends even after he’s gotten to know me – MOL). And now I’m a Dreamette – will wonders never cease! Thank you DreamTeam guys for choosing me for this honor!!!

On a soberer note, this has made me feel somewhat better, because the pawrents trapped another of the blackies last night to take in for spaying. We all of us get a little nervous and jumpy when this happens. The Mama, too. She doesn’t like that anyfur should have to stay in a cage all night, but at least it had a full meal – a double meal actually, because it had its regular dinner and then had sardines when it went in the trap! Hey - I don’t remember getting sardines! And then the Papa put the cage in our little greenhouse covered with a blanket where it would be out of the cool night air and no other animals would bother it. Though, as for the coolness of the night – it’s been amazingly warm for almost a week now. The pawrents don’t remember it ever being this warm for so long in March! Can this be Spring already?

Cross your paws that all goes well for this latest feral. The Mama believes, but isn’t sure, that this one with the lighter blaze on its chest (not Star, still can’t catch him!) is a female, and of age to get pregnant for sure. There are enough of my relatives out there already; best to stop the cycle NOW.

Rebecca or Becka for short, as the Mama has named her, is home and still wobbly. Initially, she ran off into the grass, but now has returned to the porch where she is laying close to the food and water bowls. She DID eat some. This was a little harder spaying as she, unfortunately according to the vets, was already pregnant, though not far along.

congrats to you girl on your dreamette status...purrsonally I think this calls for a shopping trip either in town or online and online is WAY easier as your dont need to steal a car...uh...I mean BORROW a car ...to get to the mall !!! hugs from dai$y of smelly trout towne...living amongst fish mongrels

UPDATE ON THE UPDATE: Becka has recovered, but still sticks close to the porch, shelter and food. There were 11 ferals at dinner last night - 3 of these are unspayed, but I believe they are all male.

Fearless, I am passing concatz to you from Purrince Tao on you becoming a Dreamette!!

Sissy is studying for exams right now so Tao is not on Catster. But I have been keeping him updated on things via Chat Box which my CBox Boy has been checking. Tao hopes to have time to write a diary soon to explain why he is MIA and so friends don't worry that he left. He and Sissy will be back regularly in May after exams are finished.

Also he wanted to know why you added to your names. Which is very cool! But I didn't know the story behind it. Tao purposely asked how the 3 of you were doing. If you could reply in your diary the reason I will pass it on to him. Not that it is any of our business! MOL!

Of course I send my catgrats too!

Zoey, thanks for relaying Tao's message - hope his Sissy does well with her exams! I thought of answering his question about our names with a diary entry of my own, but don't have quite the time required right now, so I'll just say: it was Samhain's idea! She really liked her Irish name; almost wasn't ready to give it up! But she decided instead that she would change it to something else special. She thought and thought, and came up with identifying us with the elements. I am very earthy - straightforward, practical and loyal. Samhain is more watery, fluid and changing in her nature, occasionally brooding; Sleeper is airy, light and joyous. So there you have it! But, but next week, we may have come up with something else - MOL!!! We're following the other Zachery and Zoe's lead - they're always changing their names!
