Skills: Despite only being able to jump about 12 - 18 inches Teya can somehow get to the top of the 6 foot cat tree in a few seconds
Arrival Story: Teya was born under a house to a feral cat and was adopted by her original owner when she was only 5-6 weeks old. She stayed with them for 12 years but ended up at the placer SPCA after they started a family and Teya got all stressed out by their small children. While I was fostering Teya she suddenly developed a mysterious lump on her ankle. The shelter vet did an exam, tests and xrays and think it is 80% chance of being a tumour but didn't have the time or resources to do more diagnostic tests before amputating her leg. I want to give Teya the chance to keep the leg if possible so I'm adopting her and will do the additional diagnostic tests to confirm/rule out the other things. Update Jan 2012: Teya had a biopsy in November 2011 that indicated the lumps were most likely synovial cysts but couldn't completely rule out cancer. So the recommendation was to do nothing and monitor the leg/lumps. At her exam last week the lumps were slightly less swollen and the vet is getting more confident its not cancer. As long as nothing changes we'll go back in May for another recheck. The bonus was that Teya's teeth/gums have improved a lot since she started getting some of the Hills Dental kibble.
