being a mommy- oh and feeding time

While her grandson Nicky loves playing with a laser light she absolutely hates that! She also is not too fond of dogs but she is a tough cookie and will stand up to them- not afraid to scratch them on the snout to make her point!

Favorite Toy:
mice she catches

Favorite Nap Spot:
wherever it is dog free and feels safe for her

Favorite Food:
anything out of a can- she is not picky but does like fish flavored cat food best

She is a heck of a fighter. We have watched her take on several dogs.

Arrival Story:
We had just moved to where we currently live in 2006 and on Halloween night we opened the door to find Miss Kitty standing there and hissing at the door! No kidding- a black cat at the door on Halloween. Since that time it has been a slow process getting her somewhat domesticated, She is the grandmother of Nicky and his mother Missy's mother. She also was the mom of Pearl, Julian, Toni Tigger and Toby Tigger. These days she gets a little confused. She will come in to eat- meow plantively and rub against my leg but then if there is sudden movement she will his. Very bi-polar acting we gave her a silly first name (usuually she just responds to Miss Kitty) - ABILIFY since she sometimes seems like she needs pysch meds. She is a wonderful mother- and she really does have a lot of loving qualities about her. She is especially close to Julian and her latest kittens.

OCTOBER 2011- We have been trying for a while now to get her fixed but she just will not go into a carrier and goes absolutely ballistic (I have been scratched numerous times). When she has had litters we were able to domesticate the babies, in the wild, enough to get them all eventually placed in homes. She is aging now and she isn't lactating properly so this latest batch (only two survived) will be her last. I am working with the vet to get a light sedative to give her so I can get her in the carrier and actually get her to the clinic to be spayed. She may not like that but it is way past the time. When we manage that I will post about it in the diary :)

I thought I had made Miss Kitty a profile a long time ago- sorry Miss Kitty. Even though you are very feral you are still Grandma and an important part of our extended kitty family!! ON HER BIRTHDAY- when she appeared at the door she appeared to be at least two years old based on her size and what a friend that is a vet said when he came over and tried to get a look at her. Since we have no idea about what the actual month and day for her birth is we chose to have her bday on the day she appeared at our door- October 31st and went with what the vet friend said and set her birth year for 2004. She was definitely born between 2003-2005...sorry if we made you older than u are Miss Kitty!!
