Arrival Story:
Sugar is a recycled kitty. We were told her original owner had to move to an apartment and couldn't keep her two kitties, Sugar and Spice. She found someone to take Spice, and was going to take Sugar to the Humane Society. Sugar is a special needs kitty. She has asthma. Our Humane Society is a high kill shelter, 80% of the healthy cats are "humanely euphonized" A sick kitty wouldn't stand a chance. A friend intervened (not knowing she had asthma)and took her to live with their Dog. But they were very busy, not home much. Miss Sugar started scratching. Loosing fur, and loosing weight. My daughter had cared for Sugar while owner #2 was out of town and realized it wasn't a good fit. In August of 2008 she was given to my daughter to foster and nurse back to health. She had a home lined up, BUT when it became apparent she had asthma and would need on going treatment, the adoption fell through. Sugar was declawed by her original owner. But she has a mean left right hook! She lives with her adopted brother, Peanut. She is very dainty, and loves spending supervised time outside. But won't take any crap from the doggies or the boys!
