Elmer is the name

My tribute poem to Elmer

I wrote this because we have come to believe Elmer has died or was killed by someone here in the park.Mom truly misses him and hopes he went somewhere to die on his own.
The colony is so quiet without him and Lucy.

They called you a feral tom.
Those who didn;t take time to study your ways
I saw you as Elmer a gentle soul.
Trying to make it through each day.
You fathered kittens as your legacy.
And you literally watched them grow.
You stood over them proudly.
Protecting them the only way you've known.
Now most people won;t believe.
The gentleman in you I saw.
Others cats always came first.
As you stood proud and tall.
You showed the battle scars life gave you.
You moved slow but proud.
You had the roar of a king.
Walking down the colony so loud.
You eyes showed stress.
In the world where you had to be on guard.
I saw comfort in your eyes.
When you were here with the crowd.
Time must have run out for you.
As you no longer come by.
I pray you passed peacefully.
Hard to keep tears from my eyes.
Now the colony is quiet .
Then your off spring Elwood does arrive.
The spitting image of you.
A new king to keep your legacy alive.

I am in sad shape tonight

Mom thinks I am coming to the end of my life.Today she came out and I just lay by her steps.Took me almost 20 minutes to try and eat my food.She is hoping I feel safe enough to pass on the property when I am ready.Dad says maybe it's just the heat but mom knows when I don't try to get to Tessy I am in bad shape.

Mom feels bad for me.

Mom feels bad for me Cuz I got my butt whooped in a fight.Bad scratch across my nose and by my eye.Also she thinks I have a respirtory infection because I have green junk by my eyes.She is wondering where she could find cheap antibiotics for me.She is going to try to talk to Hunters vet to see about getting some.She is so good to me in my old age.She just fed me turkey and gave me a bowl of milk.It has been a good meal.
