Arrival Story:
My cousin rescued four new born kittens, with a missing mother, at an abandoned house in his neighborhood. I was so excited to see them, hold them, and help him bottle feed them. I had always wanted a kitten. My other cousin, his sister, has a birthday 3 days before mine, so we had a family party every year. One year, we were opening presents, and when we thought we were done, my aunt said "OH! We have one more!" The next thing I know, this little baby kitty was being handed to me. I couldn't believe it! For my 10th birthday I got my first kitten, and named her Sassy, after the cat in Homeward Bound (even though they looked nothing alike haha). Best birthday present ever!

Forums Motto:
My Cow Print Kitty!

Sassy was my first kitty, and I will always miss and love her. She was not necessarily the most friendly cat, but her and I had a special connection. She spent most of her kittenhood sleeping in my bed every night. She loved kneading and suckling on her blanket, maybe because she never got her special mommy cat/kitten relationship since her mother was missing when she was rescued. She had a comfortable, nice life and was good pals with my childhood dog, Shelby. She enjoyed catnip and seafood flavored treats. She stayed in my childhood home when I moved out, and her and my mom formed their own special bond. I was able to be there and sit with her on the kitchen floor during her final hours and the moment she took her last breath, which until it happened, I didn't think I would have been able to do. She had been really sick that whole week, and we had been planning a trip to the vet. She went to heaven on July 15, 2011, and I'm so thankful that she was able to go peacefully, in her home with me, her forever friend, by her side. I love you Sassy!
