Hannahs sister Lucinda was killed by the shelter

Mom is very distraught.Some lady in the park trapped Lucinda and her
kittens in the park and took them to the shelter and they put all six
of them to sleep that day.Mom was furious so she went to the shelter to
see why they snuffed out their lives without giving these kittens a
chance.The lady told her they were feral and couldn't be handled .Mom
told her what gives you the right to call scared kittens feral with out
bathing them and trying to socialize them,And Lucinda was not feral you
could pet her and if she was acting up it was because they stoled her
kittens from her.Mom is so sad and angry.She told that lady you probably
hava a harder time throwing out your cigarette than you did those
cats.You guys told us months ago when we brought one of Tessas kittens
there they never put kittens down unless they were really sick.This
Waukesha Humane society lies to people and Mom will never bring a feral
to any kind of shelter again,Now neighbors are trying to get her out of the park because she is calling on people that are killing cats and raccoons in the park with shovels and drowning them alive in cages.Mom doesn't understand this human race how someone could cold heartly drown or beat an animal to death.She is so bitter she finds here self more and more isolating her self from the human race.She hasn't been on much because her computer hasn't been running right so she has to use the one at the library.Moms family thinks she's nuts investing so much time with the ferals.She misses being on Catster as her outlet as she is so sad about the outcome here.Any advice on the feral and shelter situation would be appreciated.

killing of cats...is a crime in most states... call police, make signs, or start an on line petition...daddy says he'd sign it, fast

Hiiiissssss indeed! how vile and horrible. So sorry about this Hunter, please tell your mom that we understand. Sometimes peoples can be so awful but don't forget that there are just as many nice peoples too. Sometimes it's hard to see that but it's true. My mom isolates herself a lot too. But life does have to go on even if we don't feel like it sometimes.

Oh my! That is so sad to hear about Lucinda and her kittens! You work so hard to help these poor kids. How did you find this out and did you know the person who trapped and took them to the shelter? If so, can you speak with her about what you are trying to do with the feral cat population there? Maybe you need to investigate a TNR group there that can step up and help you. Tell them what's going on and you need some resources and support. If this person that trappped them doesn't like cats then she might be hard to convince but if she thought she was taking them somewhere they would be helped, it's a possibility you could try to work together. Somehow she has a trap from somewhere. If so, speak with her. Try to stay calm and feel her out so to speak. Mom has found if you start to get loud and crazy people think you are crazy and it doesn't help your cause. So if this person was trying to help and took them there with the best of intentions, there is hope for you. If not and she's just another of the many cat haters, you can't change that. The support of a TNR group to back you will not only give you resources but maybe some peace of mind. So very sorry....RIP Lucinda and kittens...

We are so very sorry and sad to hear this news. It is so horrible to just do away with animals and not even give them a chance. This lady that trapped them and took them to that shelter is a horrible person...

We are humans just kill to kill, animals only kill for survival.

When Mom was trying to find a home for one of her clients cats she called a shelter, big mistakes cause Mom ended up arguing with the lady, because she swore this cat or any other cat doesn't get put down for no reason. She also told Mom there are waiting list to leave your pet there, that if Moms client couldn't find a home to drop it off in the drop box, shut the door and it will lock...Mom told this lady no and H--- no, she would take the cat before she every leaves it at a shelter..

It is a shame that you can't trust these shelters...

We are purring for Lucinda and her kittens, we know all of the catster angels are giving them so much love and they are safe now...

Mom talked to her and she took them knowing they would probably get put down.She thought it would be better than people shooting them here with 22 rifles.Funny that people think that solution was better than finding the people that kill them.Ironic the day after her cat got out and hasn't come home yet .Mom has been searching for it even though she is angry at the woman she still would never want any harm to come to any cat even hers.Mom is going to take Blizzards advice and try to talk to police and maybe some other agencys.Thank you for everyone's support .Mom just tries so hard to care for these ferals but it is definately draining her.
