indoors Arrival Story: Stormy was brought to me by some boys across the street during a long break in the rain Saturday evening (Aug. 27, 2011) as Hurricane Irene was coming towards us. They had found her wandering all by herself between a garage and a fence. She was obviously between one and two days old, because I fed her feral momma Sunshine, and saw the morning of the 25th she was bulging (and the babies were kicking) and the next morning (the 26th) she was lean again. When the boys came to ask me if I could take care of the newborn, my next-door-neighbor who was standing by at the time instantly named her Stormy. We, including the vet, thought Stormy was a "he" until she went back at 6 1/2 weeks and was told she is a girl. That is when "Irene" was added as middle name. Bio: Stormy was small for the first 2 weeks. Keeping her alive and growing was a chore, but she made amazing progress. Her mother is the feral cat Sunshine who I have never been able to trap to get fixed (I'm going to try again), and the father could be one of three candidates, based on Stormy's coloring. Technically, because of her coloring, she is a Silver Tabby. I manage to trap her two brothers. One was black and white (a different father) and the other was grey with subtle grey stripes exactly like Stormy's. Both boys found great homes. Lives Remaining: 8 of 9 Forums Motto: A bright spark! Hi efurryone,
This is my first diary entry and I'm writing to let you know that yesterday, Momma took me back to the vet for a problem. Totally unrelated to that problem, she asked Dr. Carey to confirm that I was still a boy (Momma was starting to think maybe not). Dr. Carey confirmed -- "Nope, it's a girl"!! WOW!! I don't feel any different, or look any different or act any different, so I don't know that it means much right now...
So Momma updated my profile. My middle name is now Irene since I was found during Hurricane Irene, but Momma says that because I'm so spunky my nickname is still Stormin' Norman after our Sweet Face Friend Norman. I hope he doesn't mind that I'm a girl now. Stormy Irene "Stormin' Norman" -- that's a lot of names, even more names than my big brofur and sisfur Junior Fluffkins and Tethys Fluffkins have!!
