Arrival Story:
Well first read Tigger and/or Turbo's story, which leads to my wife and I adopting Athena which leads to us adopting Apollo. Basically when we visited the shelter to adopt Athena we were interested in Apollo but he was super shy! Athena sort of picked us so we went home with her. My wife and I got to thinking about it and we felt bad for poor Apollo, he was as I mentioned very shy and also very large for a kitten, he was easily at least 1.5x larger then the next largest kitten which made us think he would not be adopted in a hurry. I contacted the shelter and asked if our application was still good and if so if we could adopt another kitty. They e-mailed me back to say yes please so one week after we adopted Athena we came home with Apollo :)

Apollo was his shelter name and we kept it, we liked the name already and the kitten we adopted the week before we named Athena so their names went together :) Apollo hid for the first week or so but he's slowly coming out of his shell. He's a very pretty and sweet cat, I'm hoping he becomes a normal member of the family soon. He generally takes about half a day to warm up to the fact we aren't going to kill him after that he lets us pet him and even pick him up and hold him once and awhile :) He has NO problem coming out to play with his sisters though and he's quite interested in his older sister Pumpkin but she's not that into him lol. He is also quite big, he's the same age as Tigger (17 weeks) as of August 20, 2011 Tigger weighs 3lbs 2oz, Apollo weighs 6lbs 4oz! We've now had Apollo for almost a year and he certainly held up to his larger kitten size, he is now up to a healthy 18 pounds, not an ounce of fat! He's still the most shy of all our kitties but he's much better then when he was younger, he will let family members pet him and will even come up to us sometimes :)
