Arrival Story:
Jellicle was one of my fosters from the Southwest Michigan SPCA. The idea is to give kitties in transition a safe place to stay until they can be placed into homes or pet stores. We were successful at keeping Jell too long so we got attached! We did place her in a pet store to see if she could get adopted, and we decided we would give her two weeks. She has a very special personality, and is very grumpy when caged. The pet store, which is a wonderful facility by the way, started to train Jell on a harness so she could interact with customers. I knew this would probably not go over well with Jell, but what could I say? After a week, we went to visit her. She seemed very depressed and miserable. She growled and grumped at us. We left feeling bad. I figured she was mad at us. I though about her all week, there in the pet store. Did I really want four cats? That was a lot of responsibility. But my sweet Jellicle was not happy. How would she get along with future foster kittens if I adopted her? I decided to put Jells needs first, and adopted her the following weekend. We are SO happy to have our little Egyptian princess back home. She is such a special lady...so soft and shiny!
