Arrival Story:
My birthday was a few days after Mother's Day. I was feeling sad because I missed my mother, as well as my beloved cat, Ronnoco, who had passed away on March 31st at the age of 17 1/2. I decided to check out kittens available for adoption at PapasPets.org, a group for which I do volunteer work at our local PetSmart store. I was looking for another black kitten. I spotted AJ who was named after AJ Foyt because he was so very active. It just so happens that my mother's initials prior to her marriage were AJ as well. I decided to foster him with the option to adopt if he and Tully got along. Ironically, when I went to pick him up at his foster home on May 23, I passed a street with the same name as the one that my mother used to live on! I was also quite surprised to discover that AJ had a few strands of white fur in the exact same spot as Ronnoco! He turned out to be quite the purring machine as my beloved Detail once was and also chose to sleep on the exact same chair under the kitchen table that my beloved Cruiser used to occupy. AJ never once hid. To my delight, he and Tully never once hissed at each other and they quickly became fast friends. Tully loves to groom AJ. I truly feel that AJ was a gift from heaven sent to me by my mother and my sweet boys Ronnoco, Cruiser, and Detail. AJ was neutered on 7/14/2011 and his adoption was finalized that afternoon.
Bio:
AJ's exact date of birth is unknown, but he is believed to be about 5 months old. I decided to choose Valentine's Day as his birthday because he is such a sweetheart. I also once had another cat named Proffit who was born on Feb. 14 and gave me much pleasure for 14 years.
