indoors Arrival Story: After Teddy died and I had recovered from the worst of the shock, I knew I wanted to take on another special needs kitty. I came across a cat that needed fostering - a CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia) or "wobbly" kitty. When she arrived I discovered a few things - she was skin and bones (average sized, if a little petite, but only about 5 pounds), she had pretty severe CH symptoms (on a scale of 1-10 she's about an 8) and she seemed to have something wrong with her eyes. Took her back to the vet and sure enough, she's almost blind. She has a little sight in one eye.
Once she settled in I found out a few more things: she's a joy to have around, she doesn't see herself as different from any other kitty and she's a determined little girl. She can't climb things unless she can use her claws to help pull her up but that doesn't stop her from using the furniture to get up on the windowsill to her favorite donut bed. She can't see the toys but it doesn't stop her from wild playing. She falls down constantly but gets right back up. And she's become an eating machine that has put on 4 pounds.
She's not only earned my admiration, but it looks like she's going to stick around as a long-term or "permanent" foster. Lives Remaining: 8 of 9 The Last Forum I Posted In: wobbly I've Been On Catster Since:
