Arrival Story: Gracie was my first kitty. I adopted her from the Humane Society when I was in college. She made a pretty good roomie! I'd always had a dog growing up, and decided on a cat because I really wanted a pet, and thought a cat would be "easier." Classic rookie mistake. Gracie quickly taught me that no longer was I the master; in fact, she quickly established her position as Supreme Ruler of all things previously mine. Of course, I totally fell in love and have remained head over heels ever since.

Bio: Gracie likes to be naughty, but she can also be very, very sweet. She loves to curl up as close as she can get to me and purr. It definitely makes up for all the broken glassware and soda-stained carpets; she also really, really likes iced tea! Gracie could use a few "nice" friends; she needs the good influence. :)

I love outside! I try to hide my excitement, because I don't want to be like those overeager common mutts, but I just can't! I absolutely adore laying on the table and sniffing the air. Occasionally a squirell gets close and I can pretend to run after the critter. Oh, my girl tries to "walk" me (she says I'm too pudgy, but I'm so beautiful I don't think it matters), but I just lay down and refuse to budge. Tee hee. However, once she is settled into a chair and really deep into an article, I'm off the table and walking around! My leash is short enough that she has to follow me; I love that! More on outside later, I must go and beg at the door for awhile.

To be walked on a leash like a common mutt? Oh, the shame, the shame. I have a feeling I'll be dragged out of doors soon, which will be okay, but these indoor practice sessions are nothing short of humiliating. I refuse to obey! I shall lay down and roll as soon as a harness and leash are applied! Deplorable conditions, I tell you. Absolutely deplorable.

My human was gone. Really gone. For a week and a half. Some large male-human came over once a day to shove a "pill" down my throat and put food in my bowl. When they got home, they brought the big human man with them and my girl told me he had "triple bypass surgery." I could smell that he was sick and I tried to climb up on him and purr so he would feel better, but he wouldn't let me. Silly humans, don't they know the power of purr? Well, that was a month ago, and things are a little better know. The human man lets me sleep with him and I've made him better. He stays home all day know, and when the girl-humans aren't around he pets me and talks to me and gives me treats. It's our little secret that we both like each other. I think he'll go back to work soon, but until then I have lots of company!
