Arrival Story:
I went to the ASPCA in NYC, looking for an older cat. None of the older cats seemed interested in getting to know me. However, there was this little 5 month old gray kitten just wailing his head off, waving his little paws through the cage at me. I told him, "I need to give an older cat a chance - you'll get adopted five minutes after I leave." I bent down to look at an older calico in the cage below this kitten, and suddenly I felt this little paw batting me on the head. I looked back up at him and he let out this big loud MEOW right in my face, as if to say, "But you're SUPPOSED to be my mommy!" I said to the girl at the shelter, "Okay, let me see this little one before he screams his head off." She handed him to me, and.... he stopped meowing right away! He snuggled down into my arms and started purring. Then, as if to seal the deal, he looked up into my face, licked my chin, and then snuggled back down to purr some more. I said to the girl, "Okay, I'll be taking him!" And here we are - 15 and a half years later!
