A New Beginning

Well, Hello there!!!

My goodness it has been a looooonnnnnnggggggg time! So much has happened in mine and my humans worlds!! Mom left her job at the nursing home and is now working at a pet store!! She loves it there but I hate how she comes home smelling like all different animals - don't they know she is MINE!? Dad has been working a lot lately too so my brother, sister and myself have a lot of free time on our hands during the day but mom and dad make sure to give us extra love every night.

At the beginning of the year McLovin had to see the doctor because he was throwing up a lot and not using the litter box like he should. They found out he was allergic to his food!!! So mom made us all switch over to grain-free foods! Now we eat Natural Balance LID Duck and Green Pea kibble and BFF grain-free wet food. We all really enjoy it and my brother is feeling much better also!

Everything was going great until about a month or so ago... Mom and dad started finding "presents" on the floor again and at first the suspected McLovin wasn't feeling good but it was really me :( Once they found out it was me they thought it was a behavior issue because my brother and I have been arguing over dominance lately. But this last week my number 2's have been RRREEEEAAAAAALLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY stinky - like peel the paint off the walls bad AND Mom noticed the last few days they havn't been the right color or consistency (I had no idea she checked my movements so closely, weirdo). Well last night she was getting ready to leave for a meeting at work when I had another accident but this time it was bloody!!! So today she took the day off of work so I could go to the vet and get checked out. The lady that I saw gave me a wellness exam and said overall I look pretty healthy considering but she thinks I have some Colitis going on and we just have to figure out where its coming from. So they sent a sample of my poos out to the lab to be tested for Giardia! The doctor also put me on this nasty medicine I have to take twice a day or a week - its AWFUL! My test results should be in by the time I am done my meds but if there is no improvement I will have to go in for more testing :/ Mom feels terrible and I guess Im not really helping with that cause I do tend to give her a hard time about taking my medicine then ignore her for awhile after but I mean come on - how would she like it if I forced her to drink some vile tasting liquid!? I will say she is giving me extra goodies to try to make up for it, like tonight I got my own can of wet food instead of having to share a bowl with Cheyenne :D

Wish I had more time to hang out but its time to go find my spot on the bed before mom gets it MOL!!! I'll try to be around more often - I miss my furrends!

Quick update...

Hiya furrends! Sorry we havnt been around much - mommy has been very busy with work an appointments and it doesnt look like its gonna be slowin down much for about another month, so if it seems like brother, sister and I have disappeared dont worry well be back as soon as possible!!

I went to the Vet today for more shots - all I have left is my distemper booster in another month! I have gained 1 1/2 pounds since I came home from the shelter and my two front adult teeth have come in - Dr.Mayerson said I have buck teeth which made mommy giggle :) He wishes the shelter would have placed my microchip in a better spot (its kinda on my side, not up between my shoulder blades where it belongs) but he said it shouldnt be a big problem. Mom was also told that I am starting one of my biggest kitten growth spurts (that must why I eat like a baby hippo mum says MOL) and Im gonna change a lot in the next couple months. Mum says she can already see a change in my fur, the grey stripes arent as noticeable anymore and my kitten floof is goin away. The dr told mommy to take lots of pictures cause I aint gonna look like a lil baby much longer!

Mum is trying to get me to stop eating only wet food but Im not caving in just yet! But I have gone from only eating pate to eating the wet food with chunks and I will eat semi-moist cat treats and the kind that are crunchy on the outside but moist in the middle. The Dr told mum that once I have more adult teeth I might be more interested in the dry stuff and he gave her and dad a couple brands to try. He wants me to keep gaining weight so he told mum none of the cheap kitten food, he wants me to have either Purina One kitten or Science Diet kitten formula. Mommy says if I dont get on dry food soon McLovin & Cheyenne are gonna have to go on diet food because they are getting fat (they eat my wet food leftovers before mom even has a chance to pick it up!! MOL)

Its been a good weekend :)

Mommy had the whole weekend off and did some shoppin for me! Yesterday I got 3 new mice (one actually squeeks when it moves!), a new kickaroo that is kitten sized, an a stuffed chipmunk MOL!!! She also gots me my first collar! Mommy tried to put my tags on it but she took them back off cause they are too big compared to my size so I chew on them MOL!! I really feels like part of the family now! Then today she got my a bigger litter box cause I only had a little disposable one before. She also go this thing called the 'ShedZilla' for my brother and sister (I dont shed yet :) ) and boy oh boy did it take out a lot of loose hair! After just a couples of minutes doin McLovin she had a ball of hair the size of a grapefruit!!! But he hates bein groomed so he was tryin to runs away - mommy ran it down my back and I thoughts it felt good!

I started climbing the big cat tree in the livingroom. Its real fun bein that high up, but I's not so goods at gettin back down yet. I's playin with McLovin and Cheyenne a lot more now too. Cheyenne doesn't like to wrestle but we do play chase around the apartment!

But Mommy says its time for me to let McLovin have a turn on the 'puter.
