Arrival Story: Putter was brought into the Vet clinic I was working at as an abandoned kitten, about 4 weeks old. He was so very skinny and had this huge head and even bigger ears, he looked like some type of ewok off of Star Wars, sooooo...cute.
Well, I could not resist and my other kitty, Gator, seemed quite lonely at 6 months and only having 2 large dogs to play with, ya know you can only take just so much "dawginess". He was thrilled to have Putter to be a kat with. They were bonded right away.
They slept together for their afternoon "I'm exhausted from being up all night pestering the dawgs" naps, they would harrass each other and from downstairs they would sound like an entire herd of horses running around the upstairs and crashing down the stairs. Geez, for 2 cats they could just make so much noise.
Putter loved bringing in all sorts of great things into the house and letting them go, such as lovely frogs which ended up under the area carpets smashed somehow, Gold Finches which he would de-feather and carry around from room to room, baby squirrels, yes! he did let them go in the house, fun fun to chase (aggggggghhhh!!!) oh, and of course the poor hummingbirds, how he caught them I will never know. But always the proud cat, he wanted me to know.
He always woke me up about 3 a.m. to make sure I was sleeping, then lay on my tummy and fall fast asleep purring quite loudly.
He was such a wonderful, full of life cat, we miss him terribly. He was truly a ray of tabby sunshine in our lives, yes! even the dogs.
