I hope I'm doing this right!
1. Meow! Are you a noisy kitty or a quiet kitty?
-Quiet. I mew around dinner time only.
2. Litterbox! Cover your business or let some other kitty cover?
-Cover. Very thoroughly.
3. Happy! Favorite Daily Routine?
-Pets from Mom and Play Time.
4. Hiss! Least Favorite Routine?
-Nail Cutting. No fun!
5. Ding-Dong! What do you think about visitors to your house?
-Watch what my sisfurs do from under the couch.
6. Friends! Do you like other animals?
-I love other cats! Mom picked me 'cause I was cute and 'cause she knew I'd get along with my now sisfurs. :)

Wow! It's been a busy weekend for us - at home and here at Catster! I just want to say thanks for all of the friend requests, gifts, treats, comments, etc. I usually stay in the forums 'cause I honestly haven't gotten around to exploring the rest of the site so imagine my surprise when my email inbox was flooded with news from Catster!
I started the diary for Cat in particular because Allie and Kit Kat were basically "good cats" - and I mean that in a way, that they didn't really have any issues at all. They respond well to change, they eat all types of food, etc. My vet says we got extremely lucky.
Of course I agree.
That's not to say Cat is a "bad cat". Not even a little bit...but she is a handful and it's been a very funny experience. Right now, she is sitting on my back and kneading my shoulders. :)
Friday, I did some cleaning and rearranging of my apartment (which I do from time to time) I put it off because I wanted to make sure Cat was comfy in her new surroundings before I completely switched the apartment around. As usual, Allie and Kit Kat were in the thick of things, swatting at blankets, jumping on dressers, uncovering "lost" toys. I don't mind. An hour after I was done, Cat came out of the kitchen and followed her sisfurs for the better part of 30 minutes. It looked as if she was relying on them to give her a tour of the place and make sure everything was okay. :)
Saturday, boyfriend and I took Cat out for a ride. While Allie and Kit Kat have no problems going in cars, Cat howled the whole ride from shelter/vet to our little home. Since we make quiet a few trips to NYC to visit our family during the year, we felt that getting Cat used to car trips was a good idea. We ended up at PetCo, one of the few places in Syracuse that allows cats and picked up some treats, once we placed her back into the carrier and gave her some PureBites, she was sold on the car trips. :) We tried the same thing on Allie (who doesn't mind car trips- but hates her carrier).
Anyway, it's been interesting getting to know this spirited little newcomer to our family and we want to thank you all again for the love you guys have shown us during our little stint as dotd :)

When we brought this third addition to our feline family, her name was Penelope. Our close friends also have a cat named Penelope so we felt like she needed a new name. We already had a third name picked out- Catastrophe - to go with the "cat" themed names of our other two cats but this name did not fit this furry little lap cat so my boyfriend and I spent two weeks trying to come up with a name based on her size and her tendency to crawl on us demanding that we pet her until she was satisfied.
Karma came to us because right after we adopted her, my boyfriend got a nice promotion, I won $100 on a lotto ticket and I got great grades this past semester in school. Lucky felt like a dog name to us so we settled on Karma.
However, during the two weeks we spent trying to find a name for her we kept calling her new cat so responded to "Cat". I thought Cat was a great name ("A cat named Cat." Like in Breakfast at Tiffany's) but my boyfriend didn't and it seemed like she was destined to be "New Cat" until one morning we woke up and saw trash on our kitchen floor! Within two days, we found the culprit.
That's when we realized that maybe our once shy cat- who now bullies her sisfurs so that she's the first one who gets food, chases them around the house and has completely tamed/won over our feisty tortoiseshell Kit-Kat -completely deserves the name Catastrophe...or Cat for short. :)
