Arrival Story: "That's it, no more male cats!"
That was the mandate laid down when we took a rather nasty male back to the local shelter after his disasterous nine days in our home. He fought with my roommate's cat, with the fights getting nastier, and he seemed to delight in causing trouble. He clearly needed to be an only cat, and Molly had seniority. We wanted to get another cat, another female, that would be less troublesome.
Upon our second visit to the shelter, we saw this little gray and white cat, and he was the sweetest cat in the whole shelter. He was also the only one that didn't hiss at the other cats there. But there was the problem, it was a he. And we didn't want another male.
Of course, you can see how that worked out. He and Molly don't always get along, and he loves getting in trouble, but you can't help but love the little nitwit just the same.
Update: Due to the fact he and Molly started fighting worse and worse, Ajax ended up finding a new home, shortly before we moved to Oklahoma City. He's probably happier now as an only cat, but I still miss him.

Bio: Ajax is probably the least graceful and coordinated cat you'll ever meet, and that probably has a lot to do with the fact he was raised with dogs, not other cats. He loves to lick and actually plays fetch from time to time. He's earned the nickname "Velcro Cat" from his tendency to follow me around almost all the time, not unlike Australian Shepherds, who've earned the nickname "Velcro Dogs".
