Last weekend I got to visit my grandpawrents! They live six hours away and my humans didn’t trust me to stay behind with the other cats even though the cat sitter stops by once a day. Something about me hurting myself. Just because I fell off the wrong side of the dvr once and ended up stuck in the wires (luckily my female human was there at the moment and immediately rescued me). Or maybe it’s because I’ve started jumping on the kitchen counter lately. My humans seem to think I shouldn’t be jumping down on tile flooring at that height. Just because I only have three legs. Hmph! The kittens can do it without any problem. *whispers* I want to do everything the kittens do, so they see that I’m a big boy too!

My humans didn’t want me to be lonely during the trip to my grandpawrents, so they decided to bring one of the kittens along; but they hated to split them up (since they’ve never been apart), so all three of us got to go with the humans! The older three cats stayed behind on a staycation.

My humans found a wire cage (made for large dogs) that filled the entire backseat and put a fleece bed with bumpers in it. They also put some of our favorite blankets in the cage and a tiny litter box (which we only used to sleep in). They say we howled for the first hour there (and back), but then we were quiet and snuggled with each other. We liked resting our heads on the bumpers, so my female human was really glad she got the bed. Our grandpawrents have two cats that were confined to their bedroom while we were there. We were confined to the guest bedroom (though we darted out of the room a couple of times). We loved it (especially me)! There was comfy carpet everywhere and no Hetty Miep to beat me up. Plus the weather was nice, so we got to sit in the screened window quite a bit. The guest room had a walk in closet, so the humans set up our litter box and the travel crate with the bed in there. A couple of times, I got a little nervous and was happy to have the crate in the closet to run into. Our grandma got us all kinds of toys. She said she loved having us visit and we can visit her again anytime! She also said I’m her favorite and I can do no wrong. I love grandpawrents!

gram paws N gram maws be de BEST artie....glad ya hada grate time N that wuz nice oh yur gram ta get ewe sum toys...bet every time ya go ta gram's her will give ewe sum toys ore treets :) then everee kitteh will be like we wanna go two; sew then grams houz will haza bazillion cats ther...

Mom says with my poor landing judgement and furry feet making me slide everywhere they I keep her at a constant state of nervousness. Soooo, she agrees about you shouldn't be getting on the counter top too. BUT she knows there's no breaking that habit. She suggest a chair to use as a cat landing so to speak.

On a lighter note.....going on vacation sounds like a lot of fun! And being grand-babies always equals toys. How much fun!

Wowza, what a pawsome trip you had! How fun that your siblings got to go on vacation with you. If you think your Mom gets nervous about counters, I jump from one counter to the other! Don't try it, Art, cause I don't want you getting hurt.

aww they dont' trust you to stay home without them, well that worked out well for you , the road trip sounds like it was fun I used to go visit grandma too but I howled for the whole three hours every time so I have not been traveling lately

Artie, it sounds like fun! I got to go away with my pawrents once to a cabin in the mountains. I stayed inside becuase the harness they got me did not fit me right, but I got to sit on the screened porch and watch stuff. And I got to eat catfish and other stuff that was fun!
So glad you had a good time!
