Written by Artie’s female human (Heather):
I had hoped to report some good news but, if anything, the situation has gotten worse.
Julie has still been unable to find anyone willing to rent her an apartment that permits cats and is within her budget. She has even offered to pay a larger deposit so that she can keep her cats (at least two). Every place has said no so far, and the constant rejection has her very scared. She is afraid she might have to give up all of her cats. I know that would truly devastate her. I’m hoping she can keep three of her cats, but she will definitely need to find homes/no-kill shelter for the other three cats.
I’m posting the following plea again in hopes that someone can help Julie find new homes for her cats (as well as for Julie). Please pass this information on to anyone you know who might be willing to adopt a cat (or cats). Although Julie lives in Central California, it might be possible to transport these cats to other areas of the country (with the help of the Caster Railroad). The cats still needing to be rehomed are the following:
1) Fuzz is a handsome 16-year-old boy with a lovely tuxedo pattern. Fuzz is laid back, loves being pet, and has a high-pitched little meow. Due to Fuzz’s age, Julie is having difficulty finding a new home for him. It breaks her heart to have to re-home him (he has lived with her for 13 years).
2) Autumn is a 10-year-old Abyssian mix with green eyes. Autumn suffered previous abuse but has come a long way since Julie rescued her. Autumn has hypercalcemia and receives sub-q fluids every other day but is otherwise doing very well.
3) Beijo is an adorable, sensitive 4-year-old boy. Beijo has never been in a shelter (just a previous foster home).
we dunno how far away it iz but did her chek with

Thank you all for the kind wishes. I know Julie and her cats can use all the purrs they can get now.
Wish we could help you find a place, but we live on the other side of the state. But we do send our thoughts and I'll send some sprinkles down there in Calf. to ease the stress that your friend needs to release.

Please ask Liz Marsh, who had posted, to repost. Liz Marsh is on Facebook, and does email blasts for cats in emergency situations.
We wish we were in a situation to be of more help. It's frustrating as are across the country in NY with 6 cats in two rooms.

I found the above listing-am hoping it will be helpful.
I also found this one...
Can I ask a favor of someone 'out there' in the Cali area, who has a big heart?
We have spoken...well, our Mommy has spoken with Julie. We're concerned because this is alot for Julie to deal with on her own. We believe Julie would 'get by with a little help from our friends'. In NY, there is just so much we can do. If there is anyone in Cali who could reach out and give a hand...Julie is a wonderful and kind person and this is breaking out hearts. Can anyone be an 'angel in the flesh/skin/fur and help support Julie?
We are so frustrated and want to do more...living on the East Coast and not knowing Cali we need to call on our earth angels on the West Coast to fly on in....
Our friend Natalie the Nat Cat (Orange Ruffy's elderwise sisfur) directed us here. We're across the country from Julie and her kitties, and the best thing we can think of to help is if either you or Julie are on Facebook, start a group there looking for help and information for Julie's housing situation, and if necessary for rehoming the remaining cats. We'd be happy to help you. If you want to do something like this, pawmail me and we can talk. I am familiar with animal "railroad" transport projects that have worked across the eastern half of the country, but I wouldn't know where to start in CA. Some of my contacts might, though, and if you can find Californians who might know people with apartments that would be even better.
Another thing to do if you haven't already is to post in the Catster forums - there is one specifically for the Railroad, and another one for Adoptions And Happy Endings.
I hope to hear from you - and I hope for good news for Julie.
Mom is going to write a diary update later today (she's on her way out the door). She just heard from Julie and her application for an apartment has been approved, and they will allow her to keep four of her cats. Yay!!! Unfortunately, she will still need to re-home two cats.
