Toby's Diary

I am beginning to regret shedding so much coat. It's really cold.

Yesterday Josie and I dared each other to go outside to see who could stick it the longest. Josie won although I did manage about three hours. Oh - mum says it was more like three minutes but it felt like three hours.

At night-time Josie stays very close to mum to keep warm. I didn't deliberately walk on her when she was under the duvet but it was quite a bonus when she shot out like that. She said she was staying in plain sight from then on. Mum curled her arm into a Josie nest and they cuddled up together.

That had to be stopped. I jumped up to the windowsill and sneaked a paw down. As I was behind the curtain mum wouldn't know I was there and would just think Josie had decided to jump about as I poked her.

It was a perfect plan with just one flaw. Josie leapt up and poked back and that was great fun until between us we dragged the curtain right back and mum could see me.

"I need some sleep" she muttered, "Settle down you two" but we were all awake and ready for our day and so I told her.

Although it is so cold there isn't any snow but mum says it is coming. Maybe tomorrow. I hope so. She hopes it can hold off until she is safely home from work on Fruday night. Then we can all stay in together and be cosy.

Sounds like fun and games at your place. I'll do you a deal I'll send you some heat if you can send me some cold and rain especially the rain or melted snow to help with the bush fires.

Oh, Toby, you are sooooo bad! We're supposed to get some snow here today, but not even an inch. Everyone is disappointed.

We still have some snow out in our yard from last week's storm. It has rarely been above freezing, so the snow has remained. During the night, it usually between 19 and 24 degrees, so we kitties haf been snuggling close to the wood stove. Daddy has kept it going round the clock. It is times like these that I really appreciate my dad...

That snow stuff are cold! But it makes my humans not go anywhere, so that is good.
