Mum had Secret Santa at work and Santa gave her a book which is called "The Cat Expert". I was quite relieved that someone had realised she needs help and we need proper care.
She brought it back and read bits to us.
"Do not spoil your cat."
"That can't be right. Read it again"
But it read the same. Must be a mis-print. How unfortunate.
"How do they suggest you spoil your cat?" I was keen to know thinking my mum could get some ideas.
"Don't let your cat sleep on your bed at night."
There was an indignant squeak from Josie. "I thought you liked that."
"I love that" mum was quick to reassure her so there won't be an end to bed sharing.
"Then it says not to do everything for your cat as they ask otherwise they'll come to expect that."
"I do expect that" Then I thought about it. "Cats are borned expecting that."
So Josie and I think we are better off with our mum's making it up as she goes along and loving us than the Cat Expert after all.

Doesn't sound like an expert to me!
That book was written by a human, so you can't trust anything it says.
That's a crummy book. Maybe it was written by a dog.
Doesn't sound any more like an expert than those parenting experts that *used* to say never to pick up your child if they're crying 'cause they're trying to manipulate you.
Some "experts" are just plain awful.
Way to go, Toby's Mum: keep up the good work!
That Author is no expurrt at all! Efurryone knows that you should always do what your cat asks for, because cats are smarter than humans! They would nefur ask you to do something that would make them deemed "spoiled." As far as humans go, your mum is purrty smart. She saw through the Expurrt's faulty advice about not letting your kitty sleep on the bed. Cat's are excellent guards. They protect you while you sleep, and they keep you at the purrfect temperature for deep sleep. I am glad that your mum didn't banish you and Josie from her bed. Give her some extra Purr Therapy tonight for her sound judgement about "The Cat Expert." Your mum knows best! Good for her!!!
