Our mum was out AGAIN last night but she didn't come home too late so we had play time. Mostly cat dancer and I did some pretty impressive leaping and Josie joined in too. But all too soon mum said she was tired and wanted to go to bed.
I said that was Ok- I would carry on outdoors but if there's one thing my mum won't budge on it's not letting me out late at night. So for a while I carried on by myself but it's just not the same.
I put on my most piteous meow. "Come back and play. I'm bored."
Silence. Louder meow. "I'm really bored"
I heard a muffled call from the bedroom. I caught my name but the rest could have been anything.
"Bored! Bored! Bored!"
Mum emerged and looked at me and I darted off to show her what I meant.
"There's nothing actually wrong is there, nothing life-threatening?"
I think boredom is an extremely serious condition and I'm disappointed mum doesn't share that view.
She went back to bed and I gave up and settled on my chair - still no snuggles for our negelctful mum. (Josie is snuggling but she says that's because it's so cold).
It is Friday and mum has promised to make it up to us at the weekend.

You mum doing you a favour keeping you in after dark it a dangerous old world out there. My mum won't let me outside after dark and it why I'm olde furt mate and I want you to grow up to be an older guy too.
Mind you it great once in a while to remind our humans they are here to se3rve us and that's not just our food but to cater to every whim that we have.
A word from the wise I've been training mum for 14 years now and she not fully trained yet. Not hold out much hope of it ever happening either.
I've been training my humans for over 19 years now - the work is never done!
The world is your oyster, Toby, how can you be bored?
I'm with you, Toby: boredom is truly life-threatening, and I don't understand why my Mom doesn't get that. I'll just have to meow a few more times with an edge in the tone of an ax . . .
finally some one understand the dangers of boredom! we gotta must have total play time as indoor cats we require it ! BTW training mom has not worked for me either and Little boy does not hold out to well either he needs his moma time.
