When mum's friends came one of them brought some flowers for my mum. Mum put them in a vase and said, very firmly, "I don't want either cat even touching my beautiful flowers" so we haven't been.
But time has ticked by and a few of the flowers aren't so lovely any more. Indeed droopy would be the word. Last night I was helpfully pointing out which flowers needed to go. A gentle tap with the paw on each of the wobbly heads.
"I'm busy" she said. "I'll do it in a minute"
I saw a chance to be helpful. Could I pull the sad flowers out? Definitely a job for the claw. I hooked it and tugged gently, then a bit more firmly and then ..well, all the flowers were rushing towards me along with a lot of water. On the plus side I got to see just how fast my mum can move when a vase is pulled over and that's pretty fast I can tell you.
Mum did take the droopy flowers out and then had a problem. There is nowhere of vase height that is beyond our reach. She has settled for leaving them well away from electric sockets in case of repetition but none of them have droopy heads now so I'll leave them be.

MOL! You were just helping the flowers look better!
Yup, that the problem. Humans not doing their jobs fast enough and then we are force to help them out. Keep an eye on the flowers, Toby
The road to H-E-double toothpicks is paved with good intentions!
Mol That's funny mate but be careful you don't hurt yourself. One thing you do really well is keep your mum on her toes.
