Turns out mum didn't stay home for us yesterday. One of her nephews came and off she went and came back burbling about the Harry Potter Studios that she had visited. "Were there any cats?" I asked. And apparently there were photos of the cats that had starred in the films. "And was that your favourite part of the tour?" and she said, "Right at the end there was this amazing.." and she caught my eye and said, "yes, the pictures of the cats were my favourite." I'm glad that we settled that.
Meantime it rained and rained some more. One problem with not going outdoors is that outdoors is full of perfect claw scratchy places and we are allowed to claw anywhere we like out there. Indoors we are meant to stick to an old armchair. Trouble is that mum inherited the chair from Uncle Bill and his cats had started the process and the chair has become rather threadbare and there's not a lot to get your claws into.
So we are trying to find a new place. It's tough as it has to be somewhere hard enough to give you something to get into but soft enough so your claws actually go in and somewhere that mum doesn't go "not there please cats". My best one so far is the sitting room rug which doesn't seem to mind being clawed at. Josie keeps trying doorposts but they are just too hard.
Mum says she might buy us one but when she was a little girl they bought them and she never saw a cat use one.
This morning is sunny so maybe the rain is over anyway! I hope so.

I love scratching the undersides of flip flops - those are fun!
I have an old cane stool that my Grandma doesn't want any more that I can scratch on. If I do it anywhere else I get into big trouble. I don't like it when rains I can't go out and do my private cat business that I don't want my mum knowing about. There are some things that our mum don't need to know. It keep mum wondering and that's just the way I like it.
Scratch, Scratch, Scratch! Is there anything better in life than a good scratch?
