Last night we had a wonderful cosy evening in, lots of playtime and then we settled on the sofa. I had the arm so Josie went up by mum's head on the back. From there she taps mum with a paw when she wants a headrub. Or if she is feeling too tired to do that she thinks about how annoying it is that mum isn't rubbing her head, her tail picks up on that and flicks, mum gets batted by the tail and knows to rub Josie's head.

Anyway that happened a few times yesterday and then once Josie was purring away and when mum reached up Josie gave mum's hand a little lick.

Mum said, "And I love you too."

That is weird!! I lick Josie occasionally but she's a cat so that's different. No. What I do is a nose to nose kiss like the eskimos. I rub my nose against my mum's and then she kisses the top of my head.

I asked mum what is the right way to tell her that we love her and she said that whatever we like to do is what makes her happy.

I wonder what my Catster friends do?

There are plenty of ways you can shoe your mum you love her. I'm not a big licker either so when mum kisses me on the head or cheek I give her a nose rub to let her know I love her with a little purr. Even a purr can tell someone how much you love them mate.

I do both your way and Josie's way. Sometimes if I am in a playful mood I jump on mom's back and hug her quickly from behind like a koala. Mom thinks this is my funniest way.

Toby, I'm not a lovey dovey kinda guy. I never sit in Mom's lap, except when I'm at the vet I jump into her lap (help Mom, save me). I show my love for Mom by simply purring. I sit or lay next to her and I start the purr motor and then Mom knows I love her.

I love to cuddle with Mom. I get under her blanket and I start kneading her and I purr like crazy. I love our special snuggle time.

Hi Toby. Do you know about slow-blinking? Sometimes Mom looks at me and then I close my eyes slowly and open them again. That is my "I love you Mom". Mom slow-blinks back at me. I love my Mom and Mommy loves me.

I like to lick, lick, lick, lick my mom! Usually on her face. Sometimes she makes me stop because my tongue is scratchy. But I just like to lick!

There are lots of different ways to say I Love You to your mom Toby. My most favorite way is by purring and licking Meowmy's hand at the same time. Meowmy will be petting me, and I will start purring like mad and licking her hand at the same time. Or, sometimes I will be in a lovey dovey mood, and I will slow blink "I Love You Meowmy," and she will slow blink back too.
