Finally summer is with us and the weekend was sunny and warm. Mum said it should be as these are the Dog Days. I looked at her and asked when are the Cat Days and apparently there aren't any.
It gets worse! She said that they are called Dog Days as the Romans thought that they were warm because of the Dog Star. And where exactly is the Cat Star? I enquired.
Why do they get a star and we don't?
So Mum asked which days I would choose as the Cat Days and I reckon every day except the Dog Ones will do fine. I am still working out what to do about the lack of a star. Mum said I could choose one but I am not allowed out at night so that could be tricky.
I have been out lots in the day though which I have loved. Only trouble is that Dylan has started sleeping in our garden so that he can be right there to move in on any leftovers there may be.
Mum says that I will have to use the magic door. I climbed through it a few times with mum holding it open but to get back in I'll have to wear a special collar. Mum has bought me one but she couldn't quite bring herself to put it on me. She says I won't like it at first but I'll quickly get used to it and Josie says that is true as she wears one and she doesn't mind. And then I'll be able to come and go whenever I like.

Your mum is wise woman for only letting you out during the day mate. The big bad world can be scary place especially at night. Being a black kitty your mum isn't likely to see you in the dark if you get out.
Oh my catness, we are having double dog days here. It's 97, that's 36 celsius. It's so hot we can't stand it. Well, actually we're in the air conditioning but poor Mom had to go out this afternoon. We hope the cat days will be lots cooler. Enjoy your outdoors time. You tell Dylan that he's in YOUR garden and he should leave and sleep in his own garden.
Yep we got some dog days of summer here in the Texas heat too! Toby really I think you can trust Josie if she says the collar is ok then you will be ok.
