A co-worker at the shelter I worked at fostered a larger litter of kittens affectionately named the "Porter-potties" (her last name was Porter). Quite the rambunctious group, especially the little black one who was always beating up on everyone and everything. The whole group was eventually adopted out and about a year later I moved out of the area and into my first apartment. Unfortunately I was unable to take my outdoor cat with me and I was very lonely. A good friend came by one day with a gift for me, a large cardboard box. Suddenly the lid of this box popped off and a large black kitty head was looking at me. It let out a big, happy "coo" and jumped out of the box. My friend told me that someone was giving away their cat that their family had gotten too large to keep. He told me that "Kusco" (the main character from the 'Emperor's New Groove', a kid's movie) was only a year old and gave me all of his paper work. Upon inspection I realized that this 20lb mini-jaguar exploring my new apartment was the very same rambunctious kitten from that litter a year ago. It was fate, and he was my Kusco now. He's my best friend and the best big brother to his little sisters.
I should add that Kusco is not overweight. He is naturally a very large cat and my vet told me his weight is perfectly healthy!
