indoors Arrival Story: My husband finally gave in after years of begging, and said we could get a cat for "Valentine's Day".
He chose a day with horrible weather to go out and just "look" at some local shelters. We decided that we would not get the "first cat" we saw.
The first shelter we went to was closed due to bad weather (of course). The second shelter was open but we didn't think we'd get there in time, but I begged and he agreed to go.
As soon as we walked in we saw some crates of cats in the lobby. One of them reached a tiny white paw out through the bars and practically waved us over!
She was tiny, striped with white socks on all 4 paws, but what really tug at my heart was a little spot of white on her nose. It was like a painter dotted her nose with his brush!
Her name was "Lyla" and she threw her paw out and tried to grab onto us, rolling on her back and begging to be taken home.
We took our time, walked around, but kept saying we already know who we want. 40 minutes later, we had filled out the paperwork and were taking our 4 year old baby home.
So much for NOT adopting the first cat we saw! Lives Remaining: 9 of 9 Forums Motto: "Always Remember -- I Chose You" The Groups I'm In: THUNDERCATS* I've Been On Catster Since:
