Hi Maria,
We just want to let u know that Elvis is doing fine...he is a bit scared when we arrived home but a few hours after that he seems ok. He started to jump on our bed and sit together with me and my husband, he spend the night with us in our bedroom. We were so surprised that he knew how to push open the door. In the morning he keep on following me around the house. Just like u mentioned, he likes to sit by the window to look outside. So far he's good. But at times we can see that he missed something, we knew that he misses u and your family. Anyway we will take a very good care of him, not to worry. In terms of eating he just eat a bit and then he will spend his time under the kitchen table. I'm planning to buy some "science food" for him as a supplement.

Send our regards to Jim and Jamie. Thank you very much for letting us have Elvis.

Warmest Regards
Nora.

Socks returned to Phyllis on 18th October 2005

After 10 months with the Wong family, Socks was blamed for the son's asthma. He was returned to Phyllis' cattery on monday. Phyllis said Socks was very frightened and traumatized. We will try and rehome him as soon as possible.

Subject: Cat for adoption

Dear CWS,

I send this email with a heavy heart. My daughter and I adopted a cat from CWS about 9 months ago and we love him very much. Sadly, my son has become asthmatic and medical tests have confirmed that he is severely allergic to cat hair (although we previously had another cat). As such, we have reluctantly come to the decision that we have to part with Socks.

I would like to seek your advice on how we can find Socks another home. Can I post a picture and a write up on your web-site? Or should I return him to the foster home where we got him? (We got him from Phyllis, through xxx, but I no longer have their contact numbers.) We would really appreciate your advice.

Thank you.

HS

"SOCKS. Socks is a big, handsome and friendly cat. He is curious and outgoing, and likes interacting with both people as well as other cats. He has a short, thick coat and a long bushy tail. Our vet thinks he is half-Persian. He was picked up in Bedok about a year ago and then adopted by our family. Unfortunately, we have to give him up because our son has developed a bad allergy to cat hair. Socks is about two years old and has been sterilised and vaccinated. "

Dear xxx,

Thank you for your help. I will call Phyllis this weekend and arrange to send Dorje over. I will gladly sponsor the boarding fee.

I was also wondering - what do you do for cats that are not easily adoptable? My other cat, Kitty, is tame but aloof and not pretty. I didn't put her up for adoption because I wanted to sort out the easier problem first. I have been agonising over what to do with her. We were thinking of sending her to the SPCA. Or as advised by the CWS website, to sterilise (already done) and release. Could I leave Kitty with Phyllis too? I will pay for her boarding as well.

Regards,
HS

Hi xxx

YP has arranged to send Socks and Kitty to Phyllis tomorrow.

On Kitty, her story is as follows. We picked her off the street as a kitten a couple of years ago. I reckon she is now about three years old. She has been sterilised and has had all her shots. I attach a photo of her below.

Thanks again for all your help.

If we could put him up for adoption through your web site, I have attached a couple of photos and a short write up.

13th May 2005:Dorje has "pee-ing" problem

Sadly, Dorje had a peeing problem and had to go to the vet for an operation. Some crystals blocked his urinary tract and he couldn't pee. Luckily, we got him to the vet in time and he survived. He had to stay at the vet for 3 days. My daughter was so upset about it all. So is my wife, for different reasons - she had to do all the shuttling between home and vet, and because it cost a few hundred bucks!

This was a few weeks ago. He is now okay, and we have finally managed to convince him to eat the new food recommended by the vet. For the first few days, he wouldn't eat and tried to eat the neighbour's birds instead.

Slightly better news - my two cats can now tolerate each other. They are not friends, but at least Dorje doesn't chase Kitty out any more.

Cheers.

I have adopted Dorje. We collected him from Phyllis this evening (Wednesday). Like all cats I know, he did not like the car journey and yowled all the way. However, he was very tame when we let him out of the box and sat quietly while we fussed over him. He has now retired to a safe, quiet spot under a sofa.
Thanks again for the help.

Dorje is doing fine. He had a flu last week and we had to take him to the vet. I wasn't surprised because some of Phyllis cats already had flu when we took Dorje. He's ok now. He's really a very friendly cat but maybe a bit too friendly. He is not happy when we leave him and he sometimes bites and scratches when we get up to walk away! I haven't introduced him to our other cat yet because of his flu. I hope they won't fight. Regards.

Thanks. We have let Dorje out of his confinement room and he is happily wandering around the house. He wants to make friends with our other cat but she is hostile - she hisses very loudly and then runs away. Hope she will become more friendly over the next few days. Hs.

Dorje is now called Socks, thanks to my daughter. He is doing great. He loves people and chases after them to get attention. But he still occasionally scratches in indignation when we try to leave him after stroking or brushing him. He also still chases our female cat out of the house, so I have to lock her in a spare room.
I don't have any photos because my digital camera is out on loan. Will try to take some when it comes back.

7th December 2004: Seen now and then at the back of a block of flats in Bedok North for the past few weeks, this cat was easily carried into a carrier this evening at about 7.30pm. At a boarding cattery, this cat was determined to be a male of about 7-8 months of age. He has a beautiful pair of eyes and a long bushy tail that hints a trace of persian breed. Decision was made to keep him in the boarding cattery after sterilisation for rehoming as he has a very friendly temperament as evidenced by his docile behaviour seen in the photos below (showing Dorje as he was being de-fleaed).
