Arrival Story:
http://members.fortunecity.com/luc ky122/dorje/ A most friendly ginger-cat with an unusually long bushy tail was dumped in Bedok North. He was rescued on 7th December 2004 into a foster-home, sterilised (on 17th December) and rehomed on 22nd December.

Bio:
Symbolically a dorje represents the 'thunderbolt of enlightenment,' that abrupt change in human consciousness which is recognised by all the great religions as a pivotal episode in the lives of mystics and saints. The Bell and Dorje, or thunderbolt, are inseparable ritual objects in Tibetan Buddhism. They are always used in combination during religious ceremonies. The Bell held in the left hand, representing the female aspect as wisdom; the Dorje, or male held in the right hand, aspect as method. Together, they represent union of wisdom and method, or the attainment of Enlightenment.

Hi Maria,
We just want to let u know that Elvis is doing fine...he is a bit scared when we arrived home but a few hours after that he seems ok. He started to jump on our bed and sit together with me and my husband, he spend the night with us in our bedroom. We were so surprised that he knew how to push open the door. In the morning he keep on following me around the house. Just like u mentioned, he likes to sit by the window to look outside. So far he's good. But at times we can see that he missed something, we knew that he misses u and your family. Anyway we will take a very good care of him, not to worry. In terms of eating he just eat a bit and then he will spend his time under the kitchen table. I'm planning to buy some "science food" for him as a supplement.

Send our regards to Jim and Jamie. Thank you very much for letting us have Elvis.

Warmest Regards
Nora.

After 10 months with the Wong family, Socks was blamed for the son's asthma. He was returned to Phyllis' cattery on monday. Phyllis said Socks was very frightened and traumatized. We will try and rehome him as soon as possible.

Subject: Cat for adoption

Dear CWS,

I send this email with a heavy heart. My daughter and I adopted a cat from CWS about 9 months ago and we love him very much. Sadly, my son has become asthmatic and medical tests have confirmed that he is severely allergic to cat hair (although we previously had another cat). As such, we have reluctantly come to the decision that we have to part with Socks.

I would like to seek your advice on how we can find Socks another home. Can I post a picture and a write up on your web-site? Or should I return him to the foster home where we got him? (We got him from Phyllis, through xxx, but I no longer have their contact numbers.) We would really appreciate your advice.

Thank you.

HS

Posting on cws
"SOCKS. Socks is a big, handsome and friendly cat. He is curious and outgoing, and likes interacting with both people as well as other cats. He has a short, thick coat and a long bushy tail. Our vet thinks he is half-Persian. He was picked up in Bedok about a year ago and then adopted by our family. Unfortunately, we have to give him up because our son has developed a bad allergy to cat hair. Socks is about two years old and has been sterilised and vaccinated. "

Dear xxx,

Thank you for your help. I will call Phyllis this weekend and arrange to send Dorje over. I will gladly sponsor the boarding fee.

I was also wondering - what do you do for cats that are not easily adoptable? My other cat, Kitty, is tame but aloof and not pretty. I didn't put her up for adoption because I wanted to sort out the easier problem first. I have been agonising over what to do with her. We were thinking of sending her to the SPCA. Or as advised by the CWS website, to sterilise (already done) and release. Could I leave Kitty with Phyllis too? I will pay for her boarding as well.

Regards,
HS

Hi xxx

YP has arranged to send Socks and Kitty to Phyllis tomorrow.

On Kitty, her story is as follows. We picked her off the street as a kitten a couple of years ago. I reckon she is now about three years old. She has been sterilised and has had all her shots. I attach a photo of her below.

Thanks again for all your help.

If we could put him up for adoption through your web site, I have attached a couple of photos and a short write up.
