This is very odd. Today when Mom came to get me from my crate, all the fur has come off the backs of my ears. They are not irritated, I am not scratching at them, just the fur has come off. Any one have any ideas?

Miranda are you on any steroids or medication for your injury? That definitely could be doing it. I think some would also suggest to make sure you don't have fleas or mites or anything. Is your mommy SURE you're not scratching at it?

Listen to Alex. Alex's Mom is very smart and my Mom figured it was the meds or an allergy.

Huum, was on antibiotics, but not in the last two weeks. No steriods since late January. Haven't seen fleas, but will check that out again. Does look like the fur was rubbed off. Guess we'll keep watching.

Thank you Zoe!!! You're a sweetpea. You know she could also just have very irritated skin and somehow is rubbing the backs of her ears on something because she can't get to her legs. My momma has fibromyalgia and when she's hurting bad she tends to get OCD and do something else to not think about the pain. She noticed this syndrome in animals as well and even though it's not technically pain that Miranda is having, maybe she's allergic to the bandages, or maybe the skin underneath is just itchy as all get out. Anyways, mommy used to use this on me, http://www.healthypets.com/humspray8oz.html. this is a great product that was recommended by our vet. You spray it on the fur and skin and rub it in. It's super duper soothing and makes your fur feel nice and soft. It really helped me when I was yanking my hair out because of the pain.

Wow! This really makes a lot of sense! Yes, we will get this. This we are all counting the minutes to next Saturday! Mom's going to check out the spray on the web site. Thank you!

Oh good, I hope it helps sweetie. Next Saturday is when you get the splints off right? Tell your mommy to get the spray no matter what because when you get those bandages off, the fur will need to grow back which is very itchy.
