Arrival Story:
Blackie was a stray with a litter of kittens many years ago. She was living under a shed near my dad's house. My dad started to feed her as she was ravenous from nursing. When the kittens got old enough, the neighbors and I caught them and found them all good homes. My dad adopted Blackie. Blackie lived with my dad until just recently. Due to my dad's poor health (congestive heart failure and kidney failure)he can no longer live by himself at home. My cousin was going to my dad's house on a regular bases to feed Blackie but it soon became apparent that my dad won't be able to return home. He is now in a nursing home, so last Sunday we brought Blackie home to live with us. Blackie is adjusting very well to her new home. She does have a few squabbles with Ben but they are diminishing. Blackie always wins the disagreements. She may be an older girl but she doesn't take any crap from the boys!
