Cardiology Visit Update

I'm sorry it took me so long to get this update done. My mom's had a busy week. But all was good news! My heart is even smaller than the last time. My murmur is down to a 2. My kidney values are stable and a bit better than in December. I gained a little weight back. But I am still not feeling well. I have some kind of itchy problem going on. I scratch my ears and eye area until it bleeds. I also lick my body & tail a lot as if scratching. My cardiologist didn't feel comfortable treating this issue so I am going to my regular vet this coming Tuesday. She did prescribe an antihistamine (more pills!) but so far it doesn't help a lot. All the scratching makes it so I can't relax much so have been a bit lethargic. She thinks it may be an allergy to something. I guess we might find out next Tuesday.

Today is my baby brother Tristan's birthday. He is one year old. Where did the time go? We will be having some fun later celebrating so I look forward to that. He's hoping to see the goldfish plant bloom today but I didn't have the heart to tell him it doesn't even have a bud.

Have a nice weekend!

Meows,
Ethan

Ethan sometimes when a kitty has pain or some health issues, they get OCD! I did! It's really tough, your mom might want to try some rescue remedy or something homeopathic, some Feliway, etc. Don't know if that's it but it happens a lot!

Glad to hear your values are good, but purring you start feeling some relief from that itching soon. My sister started doing a lot of scratching and over-cleaning. The vet thought she might have developed a food allergy, so Mom switched her to a limited ingredient diet and she's doing a lot better.

Thanks all for the replies. Alex- my mom had thought about OCD since I am going through a lot of late. We tried Feliway before for Kirby but it did not seem to do much for any of us. Maybe the air cleaner removes it but Mom needs that for her asthma. We have wipes for our carriers etc of the relaxing stuff. May try it more often if it is OCD.
Hilda- we'll keep that food in mind if the vet doesn't find anything! Not sure I'd eat it tho.
Da Tabbies- Yikes let's hope it is not fish as I only eat 3 flavors of food now & all are fish. :-/
QT- thanks for those purrty butterflies!
River- Thanks for those purrs.

Ethan I have an article my mommy wrote on our site about OCD for kitties if you want to read it: http://ibdkitties.net/OCD.html. Also, you should try a calming collar! Those work great!
