Not Feeling Well

I have been throwing up on and off for awhile now. My mom thought it was probably from hair since it would stop. Then I started to have diarrhea too. I have had a lot of trouble getting used to Louis not being here. At first I looked for him a lot. But I never found him so I gave up looking. I became a different cat. I am now quiet and very clingy to my mom. I play some but not the wild ways of my past.

I went to the vet to get some tests run. Both the kidney values came back high so I am now considered to be early Chronic Renal Failure. Most days I do not feel well but my mom thinks it is too early for the CRF to be bothering me. She is still thinking I am missing Louis. I just seem troubled. We got the throwing up to stop and the diarrhea but the sadness is still there.

Some do not feel that a cat can morn this long for another but I was very close to my brother. I was always the kitten no matter my age. Suddenly now I am the adult. It all confuses me. I know that there are a number of sick kitties needing purrs on Catster so the purrs sure are in demand lately. But if you can find a small purr somewhere in yourself, maybe you could send it my way. My mom needs to find the strength to fight another serious illness already (my CRF) much like she did for Louis and the cancer. Thanks dear friends.

Purrs,
Ethan

Ethan we hope you start feeling better soon. Grieving can take time for furs and for hoomans too. All we can do is surround each other with love. I still miss my brofur Yoda after many years and our sisfur Tigger too. My Brofur Harley really misses Tigger, he was her mommy. We understand. Take care of yourself and remember Louis is always with you whether you see hi or not.

Hugs,

Zeeke & the crew

Oh Ethan, We are so sorry to hear you have been sick. And yes honey, we do know a kitty can go into depression when losing another. Punkin & Charlie are bonded just as close as you and Louis LeBeau were. Hang in there sweet boy, because we love you very very much.
To know that you are heart sick, is very sad. But very understandable!!!!!!!! Prayers and Love, Karma & Family

Ethan, the exact same thing happened to me. When my sister Miss Mittens went to the Bridge in September, I missed her dearly and grieved for weeks. Miss Mittens and I had been together since we were kittens. She was the boss too! After a few weeks, mommy didn't think I looked good and took me to the vet. My kidney values were elevated and the vet said I was in early stage kidney failure. Then I suddenly got very sick, stopped eating, my kidneys crashed and I had to be hospitalized. It was very puzzling and we still don't know why my kidneys crashed or what's really wrong with my kidneys but I'm being treated for a kidney infection and am trying to get well again. Mommy found out that it isn't that unusual for cats to become ill after they lose a brother or sister they were close to. Ethan, I'll be purring very hard for you and hope you feel much better soon!

Hugs & purrs,
Kaci

We are purring and praying for you Ethan. We hope you will overcome your depression on the loss of your sisfur. Sometimes it takes a while for that to go away. Cats and Dogs grieve, just like humans do.
We wish you well and hope you and your family have a Happy Holiday.

Love, Kibbles, Francis, & Yoda

No! That isn't good. Our ancient cousin has CRF, but he is an old, old boy, at least 18. We don't understand, Ethan, can the vet tell you why you got it? We hope it can be turned around. Maybe some nutritional therapies can help. We are very concerned and purring for you.
