The Groundhog's Flower Garden

Some of you will remember when we had the groundhog living in our yard and digging a tunnel by our house. He was moved, came back and now lives elsewhere again. But this Spring we got some really nice surprises left by the groundhog. He made a small flower garden it seems. It had sunflowers late last year and now we have a few daffodils and one very pretty bright pink tulip. A few years ago my mom had planted the tulips in our front yard. They were all dug up and disappeared. We suspected a chipmunk was the culprit. Somehow the bulb must have been dug up from the chipmunk's home under the ground and replanted by the groundhog. It might be the best tulip in the whole world. That is because it reminds me of that groundhog. I really do miss him.

Grumpy Frog Sighting!

For all of Grumpy Frog's fans (and he does have some)- today he was spotted by the pond! Well I guess I should say he was heard before he was spotted. MOL! My mom had just opened the front of the sunroom so we could look at the pond and hear the waterfall too. That is always such a nice thing in Spring because you know the cold weather is drawing to a close. After she opened the window she opened and closed the screen just to get it moving a bit. Grumpy Frog did not like all the racket around his peaceful pond. So he started grumping at us. He is really loud and really big this year! He's out sunning on the rocks as we type this. I am so glad to see him and know he is well and grumpy as always. :)

Green-eyed Monster

You probably thought I was going to write about myself with that subject title. MOL!! I am not even going to write anything about jealousy. But I am going to write about all the green stuff in my house about now. It's everywhere! We do kind of get into St. Patrick's Day pretty good. Mainly because it is Louis's birthday. But my mom likes a lot of Irish things. Or has an interest in them like the Titanic. It was an Irish ship after all. My song on my page is actually the stearage dance from the Titanic movie. My mom even owns a piece of coal that went down on the real ship. I guess the expedition that was inspecting the wreckage of the ship brought up a lot of the coal from the ocean floor and sold it to help fund the expeditions. And we have one little piece. Mom also likes Notre Dame college (Fighting Irish) and especially our Cleveland Browns quarterback, Brady Quinn. You see he went to Notre Dame. :) Plus she says he is a really nice guy. Anyway I just wanted to talk about Irish stuff today. We have green decorations on all the doors, windows, tables and just about everywhere. Even my eyes! MOL! (OK so those are always green.)
