Arrival Story:
Mia was adopted from a no-kill shelter in San Jose de Abajo, Nayarit, Mexico. She and her six siblings were dumped at the gate of the shelter, all of them together in a burlap sack. They were aproximately two weeks old. The shelter staff dropper-fed the little critters until they were old enough to eat soft food, then had them all spayed/neutered, and put them up for adoption when they were six weeks old. While volunteering for an adoption day sponsored by the PEACE Organization ( http://www.peacemexico.org/ ), she wouldn't interact with anyone else but her future Mama, so she was taken home to meet her new friends, Simba the Standard Poodle and Chango, another rescue cat from the same shelter. Chango passed away in July 2011, but Mia still has Simba to cuddle with.
