Nicknames: Twirp, Twirpus Maximus, Ears, Troubles, Weebl's Wobbles (And he does fall down), Riley-kin, Little Fella'
Birthday: September 1st 2004
Likes: Stomping on keyboards, special food, rubbing his face against mine, going to rub other cats and tipping over on top of them, and playing pipe-cleaner!
Pet-Peeves: He never seems very mad about anything. He is sad if other ctas don't return his affections, but is a very good sport about it.
Favorite Toy: Pipe cleaners. He used to just use anything but now he always has a gnarly old pipe cleaner hanging out his mouth! He knows what drawer they are in and will open it and steal one if you don't make one special for him. Then he'll fetch it 20 times!
Favorite Nap Spot: Curled up on a person or with some other cats. The other cats are made sick by how spoiled and annoying he can be, but he always manages to get cuddles from almost everybody!
Favorite Food: Clini Care! He got addicted back when he was a sick little kitten and needed the extra calories and now he'll do anything for a little taste.
Skills: He never gets disheartened if the other cats don't return his affections (He never even given up on Rambo!), he probably has good hearing... and he has inherited the fetching gene from his psuedo-father Stormy!
Arrival Story: Riley and his 5 siblings were born to a feral cat in the Lake Forrest Hospital parking lot. When they were 4-5 weeks old their mother was hit by car, and they spent a week living as orphans until they were rescued by Spay and Stay. Riley and his brothers Andy and Geoffrey came to be fostered by us, but they all got sick with distemper and his brothers passed away. Riley was already attached to us before he got sick and lost his brothers, so afterwards we didn't have the heart to put him up for adoption alone. We're so glad we caved and kept the little guy!
Bio: After we resigned to keep him and he was feeling better we moved him upstairs with our other cats. He fit in quite well and quickly became part of the family. Then, one day he spent the day resting instead of bouncing off the walls, and when we woke him up he couldn't walk, and when he tried to jump down from things he would land in a pile. We rushed him to the vet who luckily suspected toxoplasmosis right away and after 4 days of pseudo-paralysis being carried around everywhere the antibiotic kicked in and he got better and now he is just very wobbly and clumsy. It doesn't keep him down, though. When he wants to jump up on something and he keeps falling he just keeps trying until he makes it, and if he falls or crashes into something he acts like nothing happened! We like to say he has "troubles" but they don't keep him down. :)
