Arrival Story:
Bei Bei was one of four kittens born to a long-time semi-resident of my backyard, Mama Kitty. She moved her babies to my patio when their eyes opened. When they were maybe a month old, three of the kittens died -- possibly of distemper, but not sure. Bei Bei stuck with his mama until she weaned him, and since I was feeding them both, I guess he bonded with me as his surrogate mama. I resisted adopting him because my cat Mei Mei is quite possessive and suspicious, but I had a feeling I could not resist him. He was treated for a diarrheal illness successfully, and then I was pretty ready to bring him inside when he became ill again. I took him to the vet twice, and the second time they kept him. He was quite desperately ill for three days, but with excellent care and medication he turned the corner on the 12th of January, and came to his forever home on January 13th. He is the most loving, delightful kitten I've ever seen, and he is truly Bei Bei the Wonder Kitten!
