Monday again and it's the pawrents day off. Since there were no pressing chores to be attended to, and as the temps were supposed to go into the 90's again later, we got to walk early this morning. It was a mutual decision to go directly to the corral garden because it's a large, fenced-in area and feels safe. The Sleep and I have both had issues recently with being scared by big trucks and clip-clopping horses going past on our dirt road while we were walking in the shrubbery near by. [The Papa says: let me show you the scars! :)]
Anyhoo, it was a lovely walk for about 25 minutes, much of which was actually conducted off leash, since we, neither of us, try to run away (unless provoked as mentioned above), and it was a little less damaging to the Mama’s plants when we didn’t weed-wack things with the leash while crossing her veggie beds.
But eventually it was time to go back, and the Mama clipped my leash back on. She didn’t, however, hold tight to the end of it, and what at first seemed like a cooperative Samhain headed for the gate, turned into a wild cat, running full speed and right up the tulip tree! Yeah, right ON; I can climb with the best of them, baby!!!
The Mama was more concerned that I might strangle myself with my leash on my downward trip, so the Papa, who is considerably taller, stepped in to coax me down from the tree. This turned out to be somewhat easier than expected, and the Mama vowed that in future, she would keep in mind that I am fully aware and never truly happy to end my walk, so she’d best be on her toes for hi-jinks!
One last note - as it says above, the Mama has made a page for the ferals. We talk about them enough - they might as well have their own page!
Sounded like a fun walk off the leash and then up the tree!!
We went and checked out your feral page. We are very happy you created a page for them :)
The Mama is going to have to be more careful - hehehe...
Thanks for checking out the feral's page!
Catzowey! Youza got clippity cloppity horses on your street? Yikes I never seen that in San Franfuncisco so I'ma gonna come over to play in your yard!
Hiya, Guido! Yeah, you guys should come over and run in the garden - it's a perfect playground for cats!
