Well, it happened something like this: the pawrents had a book appointment to go to out of town, and left just before dawn. They got back sometime after 3PM. Sleeper was out in the cattery, yelling for them to hurry! They went inside, and...no Samhain, but the kitchen folding footstool is knocked over along with the (empty) trashcan - they emptied it before they left.
They're checking all the usual places: in the big computer box, behind the TV, in our room, in the shower stall, in the Mama's closet - no Samhain. Now the Mama is getting worried. Finally, they think to look under the Mama's desk. I'm crouched there and don't want to come out. When they get me out, it seems there's a problem either with my foot, my leg, or my hip - they aren't sure. So it's a trip to the V-E-T! Oh, NO!!!
The good news is, it was nothing serious - no broken bones or hip or spine problems. The not so good news is that it may have been Sleeper who bit my foot, because there's a puncture wound!!! Just a small one, but it's on the top of the foot, and the pawrents can't figure out how else I could have gotten it.
Oh, well - I suppose this will slow me down for a little bit, and maybe I'll stop playing so rough with my sister, who normally never bites ANYBODY! Oh, and the nice man at the vets gave me a shot, but I was very good the whole time, Mama says.
sendin sum trout yur way sam sew ya doez knot get an infectshun...put one trout on yur feetz N snak on de rest...sorree ya had a bad day :( happee it wuz knot like a broken bone.....eeeeeeggggggaaaaaaa ......

Next time tie ur folks down 'n don't let 'em go outta town! Or leave ya! Da nerve!! MOL!
Big huggies 'n kisses,
Thank you everyone for the support! I think just having the pawrents home made a big difference. I needed them to tell me everything was alright, and once they did, I started walking a little better. I've even gone out in the cattery. And I'm not holding a grudge against Sleeper, who seems genuinely concerned about me, and keeps giving me little licks.
Oh my! We are super glad nothing is broken! We are purring for your boo boo to get better. Happy to hear your pawrents are back home.
Oh my...good thing our parents don't know what goes on when they are not around. Glad there was nothing wrong!
The Mama said in my defense, that despite what the vet said when he shaved the wound on the foot to get a better look at it, she doesn't think it looks like a bite mark from me! It's too jagged-looking. She and the Papa believe that somehow she poked herself on a corner of the metal kitchen ladder when it fell over on her. And what Samhain didn't tell you was that she was probably trying to climb up the ladder which was folded and leaning up against the wall. She was trying to get into a bag of sourdough bread which was hanging on a hook out of our reach. We LOVE that sourdough! Ah, yes - even more things to either move out of the rooms we occupy or else put under lock and key!
My girls! Sleeper I believe you when you say you didn't do it. Puncture wound from a ladder? I guess I would have to see the ladder.
You know we love sour dough bread too. Zach has a fit when Mom pulls out the rye bread. Of course, he's probably wanting the goodies in between the slices of bread.
Samhain, get better baby girl!
See! I tol' u it wasn't sweet Sleeper!~ Her too sweet 'n charmin' to does anythin' like dat! Samhain lubbs her Sleeper sisfur! I iz sowwy u hurted urself, Sammy!~ Hmm 'n thinkin more's..maybe take dat sour dough bread 'n put it within reach so U can always get to it! MOL! WINKS!!
Sending you some purrs.
I've been limping around this morning some, but at the moment I'm just chilling out on the couch, sending mental vibes to the Mama: "stay home...stay home...stay home..." She just said, "It's not going to work, so cut it out!"
I'm glad it doesn't seem to be anything serious, Samhain. Mom panics when she can't find us, because sometimes we're able to sneak out the door behind her without her realizing it. Hope that footy feels better today! Sleeper must have really chomped on you.
Oh no! your paw! I hope you at least got a little sourdough for your trouble. I don't blame you for trying for it- yum. I love breads too. mom has to put them in the cupboard. But thank goodness you didn't break or sprain anything. I'll purr for a quick recovery
WHOA! Glad you're okay!!!
Am still limping as of this evening, but it seems much less than it was yesterday. The foot doesn't look any more swollen, and the wound looks fine. Thanks, everybody for the kind concern!
Owwie! Glad you're feeling a bit better and wishing you a speedy recovery.
