Arrival Story: In August a flyer for a lost kitty was posted. We put some food out in case the kitty was hiding around our home. KoKo showed up and started eating the food. She was not the lost kitty. She came 3 or 4 times a day at the same time. As the weather got nasty, we felt we could not leave her to fend for herself over the winter. We trapped her a few weeks ago and are working to gain her trust. She is living in our basement now in her own space. She has a kitty bed, warm blankets and as much food as she wants. We hope she begins to trust us. We think a family that moved out a few years ago may have left her behind. She was OK kitty (Outdoor Kitty). Now she is KoKo kitty.
KoKo has been with us for about 2 1/2 years and is still extremely timid, but tolerant. She is very good cat and really took to inside kitty habits. She spends her days sleeping or watching the birds and activity outside.
We hope she continues to trust us more each day.
Bio: She seems to be a young kitty. But really not sure how old she is. We will get a better idea when we take her for her first vet visit.
We are expecting a snow storm tonight which is why my pawents trapped me. Two years ago, we already had more than 5 storms so far. Now I am sleeping in a nice warm house. I still don't trust any non cat. But I know I am loved and safe.
Thanks to all my friends for the sweet words and prezzies.
Today, one year ago, I was lurred into the Have a Heart trap and began my life on the inside.
I am a low key member of our family and still very unsure of those humans that try to be my friend. I know they mean me no harm and bring me good things to eat. But as soon as they try to come to close, I run under something and hide. This has made getting me to the vets an impossibility.
I am very quiet and a low energy kitty. Nothing like Xena, who is tweaked (that is what the Man and Lady tell me).
I got better for a while and was even letting the Lady pet me. Then I decided I just didn't like it.
I may never be more trusting than what I am now to the humans.
But, they feel better knowing I am fed and safe.
I have my own apartment downstairs and like to sleep in my blankets and beds that were bought for me.
I love my kitty brofurs and sisfurs. The Man made a screened gate that is at the top of the stairs so they can see me and I can see them..but we can't touch each other. I love to sit and watch them go about their day.
I've gained some weight and have that indoor kitty belly and I love scratching pads with catnip. Can I make a mess of those things.
Thanks to all that have stopped by today. Hopefully, I will have a breakthrough in 2012 and begin to trust my humans.
