Arrival Story:
I found him through a local Humane society. He was in a home with a retired couple, not at a shelter, though. He had suddenly started appearing at their back door with a feral male cat(!) around the end of October,as a tiny, tiny kitten, little enough to fit in one hand. So the vet guesstimated that he could not be more than 6 weeks old at maximum. Luckily these kind people were cat lovers and took him in, although they already had several cats and took him in even knowing they could not keep him permanantly. Bless these folks for being so kind.

Bio:
I don't know a lot about this boy yet except that he seems very sweet, he's beautiful...and if he is really only three months old, he may turn out HUGE. I've been wanting a red kitty for a long time and saw his picture on Petfinder, and- he will be coming home after he's neutered on the 4th. He may also have a friend tagging along, as I don't want BooBoo to be too aggravated with kittens wanting to play. ETA...I got him early, YAY!

Another show, another...

...diary entry! I just got back from my second show, not so many kitties but I did get four BEST HOUSEHOLD PET ribbons. I did one thing that was probably kind of bad though. I got bored and since there was AC trouble part of the day Meowma gave me a water dish plus my bunny bottle that I had last time. I drank some, but when Meowma was talking to a customer, I played in the rest of it and got water all over me. Then i rolled in my litter tray (yes, sillies, it was clean! I don't play in p and doo!) The litter stuck to the water drops, and dried up while Meowma was still yakkin. When the other lady left Meowma turned around and her eyes got really big. She said I looked like the breading on a fish stick...mmm, fishie!
Anyway, she held me down on the table and combeed me with the Zoom groom a little, the gave me a Miracle Groom bath right there...ow, ow, then eek, eek, I hate Miracle Groom... but I still dried up in time for the next go round of little cages.
Pandora did not get to go this time, she and BooBoo stayed home. So I had Meowma and her leftover shrimp and to myself, YAY and YUM.
Meowma says Pandora stayed home because she doesn't need to go anywhere right now, for a couple more weeks. I wonder why, because she stopped being all loud and obnoxious all the time--I mean Pan, not Meowma, who is only that way now and then. I think Pandora just decided to start eating a lot more food instead of doing all that squalling. Meowma says there's very likely to be a surprise around August 7... I wonder what. Oh, and I never did get to meet that boy cat that Pandora got to visit in the cat jail room, and Meowma took him with us to the show, but he didn't come back. So I guess I don't get to meet that new friend.
Until my next adventure, bye y'all!

busy April!

Wow, Diary, I haven't even had time to talk to you lately. April was a pretty big month for me, at least the last half was. See, Meowma was getting me ready for something called a Cat Show. That meant I was getting brushed, brushed, brushed so all my old winter hair would come off; I think Meowma should have made a pillow out of it, there was so much. Then, after several days of that, I thought she was trying to dissolve me. See, she filled the sink up with water, and stuck me in it! I was crying that i wouldn't do 'it' anymore, whatever 'it' was, but she put this bubbly stuff on me and kept rubbing. But I still didn't melt. Finally she turned a hose on me and washed all the bubbles off. I'm telling you, I was getting LOUD! She finally felt sorry for me and got me out and wadded me up in a towel for a while and that wasn't so bad. And when I finally got dry, I hate to admit it, but I felt better. And Meowma said my fur felt like a bunny, and that the dirt on my head from running under the bed was gone. At that pioint i thought I was safe. Three days later, Pandora and I got put in our cages, and I thought we were going to the vets office. But no, we went to a Hotel. I had been to one before, but Pandora was scared and that made me nervous. But by about 3 am, we were both ok, and we ran, ran, rn, and played, played, played. Meowma stayed awake too but didn't get up to play with us. I wonder why. When it got light outside she put us back in our cages and said we were going to the Cat Show. Well it turned out to be a big room, kind of like the animal shelter, but no dogs and a LOT more kitties. Also I got beautiful curtains on my cage to give me some privacy, and got brushed and petted some more. I had to go a couple of times to some little cages where people I didn't know got me out and handled me, and I wasn't too sure about that, but I was a good boy. I noticed some of the other kitties even played with the strangers. I might try that next time.
I got to eat extra kitty treats that day and the humans who saved me when I was very tiny came to visit. I let them hold me but really wanted to be with Meowma. I got a big ribbon the last time I went in the little cages, it is very pretty.
So that was the Cat Show.
Something else has been going on this week too. Pandora is acting plumb weird. She keeps meowing really loud, wallowing on the floor, and rubbing all over me, and sticking her behind in my face! That's not very nice, and I see her doing it to Meowma too. Heck, she's even doing it to BooBoo. Meowma says something is getting done about it at the end of next month, and for me not to worry, she should stop for right now in a few days.I sure hope so, because it's a mystery to me and sort of annoying if I'm trying to take a nap.
Later, Diary!

a hard day's...week

Whew! I am exhausted. You see, Meowma went away for a week, so her man friend came and fed us for the whole time. He spent the night once, because we needed snoogling. Other than that, though, the party was ON. Pandora and I totally dismantled the linen shelves and took the towels all over the house, and found a cool new toy in the bathroom. It's this round, soft white thing with a hole in the center so it can spin on a stick. When you claw it, the round thing starts spinning around and around, and some of it turns into feathers. Sometimes big pieces come off to. About half of it just puffed up into a big ball of fluffy stuff to play with. I thought it was nice of meowma to leave it for us, since she wasn't here to play with the labor. So, we decided to folsd a basket of laundry she had left. We dumped it out and separated the clothes, which was a lot that took up the whole bedroom floor and some of the hall. But then we couldn't fold it; our thumbs are really little, and our claws kept getting stuck in the fabric. So we just left the clothes out, because we couldn't figure out how to stand the basket up and get them back in there. Bad thumbs, remember? It was so tiring that I had to eat the entire catnip plant to the ground to keep my energy up. Pandora does not like catnip yet and BooBoo can't jump to the plant, so I didn't feel bad hogging it all. I'm sure Meowma will appreciate that we tried, however. Now I think I'll take a nap for a few days.
