Back in the spring we started a group. Sadly to say it died. Well, never even hit the ground running but the group was called Small Victories against Animal Abuse. It was supposed to be a place were pet lovers could celebrate laws being put into place to save animal lives.
No, we aren't trying to make you feel bad, not at all. Most groups you look at are dead. Mom is a realist so this doesn't disappoint her. I thank she would have been more shocked if it became a big group. MOL!
Anyway, here we go again talking about animal abuse on Gris's diary. Mom just can't help herself and the beautiful thing is all the Mom's and Dad's in animalster land feels the same way. We do love you guys and love being here with you!
So, with the discussion moving to abuse and laws Mom wanted to share this video clip and article with you all. After all Susie is the reason she started the group in the first place.
Susie's and Chamberland's laws Sorry about the commercial you have to sit through.
First Susie's law court outcome
Just wanted to share this with you. After all it's time to look back at what good has happened in the year.
Zoe...uhm mommy is in tears! It's so sad to efen see or hear o' abuse 'n mommy tries to think o' all peeps as good hearted when it come's to their four legged fureinds. But it's jus' not da case. Dat man got what 18 months jail time???? Fur killing 3 doggies? Dat man should be hung! Literally, in front o' efuryone in da streets, maybe DAT would stop dis utter horrible cruelty!~ I am happy Suzy's story made tougher rules though. Suzy was really a lucky doggie. Ya know, truly, why does peeps efen haz animals if'n dey really don't want 'em??? Some peeps r jus' jerk's. Thanks fur da diary, we all should know these things. Bring on more tougher laws 'n reinforcements!!
That's AWESOME that the law was passed!! I'd LOVE it if animal cruelty was a felony even for a first-time offender in PA & all other states too!! Luv, Tink
We really had no say around here at one time and then Susie the pup was found in the park left for dead. Then a few days latter as everyone was waiting to hear how she was doing we heard her daddy did this to her. It made people so mad! They rallied around this suffering little pup and man did we get the attention on her. People started calling Raleigh, started calling the news channels. And wouldn't you know, Susie survived!
Then she became the NC Spokesdog against animal cruelty. We raised money and put pressure on our legislatures. Mom said having a female Governor probably helped. That's how you get it done. What for the right case to outrage and go for it.
Milo, sorry we made your mommy cry. If it makes you feel better, Susie is living the life of Riley now AND, this is a big and, Puppy Mills fall under this law too. We had a huge horrible puppy mill raided back in the spring and boy they socked it to that lady. They took everything she owned away from her. Can you believe while she was waiting for her court dates to come up, she petitioned the court to give her back her personal dogs. The court said NO! When she gets out of jail she won't be able to show her face anywhere around here! Do you know the Primus song "My name is Mud"
oh yea it is sad to think of the way some people treat sweet lovin animals, we all have such sweet souls. Thank you for sharing this it is really good to see progress, we are with Milo that man should have been hung or maybe set on fire and left to die on his own. I am so furry glad Suzie is living the good life now and she is doing so much to help others it's pawsome.
Calie, Susie's Dad was already in jail when they figured out it was him that did this to her. He did NO extra time for what he did to her. That's why everyone got so upset and even nonanimal lovers said "this isn't right"
As for the guy that starved his 3 dogs, 18 months without parole is a long time for animal abuse. Even if we thank it should have been longer.
oh Zoe I know this is really great news and 18 mths is a long time for sure this is a giant step in putting a stop to animal abuse. We did not know Susie's story before tonight it is horrible that he got no punishment at all for what he did to her. She is such a sweet heart and she looks so much like our cousin dog salley.
Calie, Mom always thought Susie and Diamond favors too.
Keep fighting the good fight!
Yes fight the fight never give up.
Thanks for posting this, Zoe - it was definitely worth the read.
