Mom was on Topix today in the cat section. She was reading about bad bathroom habits.. someone suggested Happy Cat that's added into water. It's supposed to calm a cat. Mom wasn't sure about this but she might try it. Then she realized it was a litter additive instead....but what does she see Cat attract! Wow, the great abundance of info her is unreal. Problems that she has just considered part of cat ownership might be helped by Cat attract and Feliway. Mom used Feliway when we first moved into the house cause I was stress eating (typical female) and Zach was freaking out jumping everywhere till finally of two days of this behavior settling down in his room, in a box. Hey look, it's a Zach in the box!
Know that the kit is coming, Mom thought of another name today "Griswold" you know like Chevy Chase. Anyway, Mom is working hard to get us on our best behavior so we don't teach the kit bad habits.
IE: my bathroom habits
Zach's scratching and jumping habits
Our begging for food.
Mom said she can deal with the jumping on things and begging, but the other two have got to stop. That's part of the deal with Dad. He understands if it doesn't work he just wants to see her try to teach us good manners.
Hit the link then under the order price you'll see a section with usage info in the center, click on that for some great ideas.

Is it just me?? None of my links have worked sense the update. Lets try it old school:
Oh about this cat litter additive, the litter can't be scented in anyway and paper and "conventional" litters isn't good with Cat attract. Naturally, they recommend their own brand. So, Mom looked it up and wouldn't you know Precious cat classic litter is hypoallergenic, which would be good for me!
Oh and Mom found us a new litter pan too. She said it looks like the sides are really high so when Zach starts "a kicken", the litter will stay inside. But what about the baby?
is it just me?? None of my links have worked sense the update. Lets try it old school:
You've got more than one box at this point so put the one with shorter sides closer to the areas that he likes and he will probably just use that one.
LOVE the name Griswold!!
I have had a LOT of trouble with links lately. Please try to put the link here in the comments section. If that doesn't work you will have to spell it out for us to manually look it up. Luv, Tink
I added it to the diary Tink. I kept getting error 4 when trying to post a comment.... on my own diary. Crazy!
Hey! That comment went through.
It says "link removed". There are some really crazy problems since they did that STOOPID "upgrade"!! It's STOOPIDER than BURDS!!
Oh noes!!! Yous startin to sound like Da Tabbies!!!
Maybe, but nothing is stoopider than burds to them!! MOL!!
Bli zz! Whats happening!
There you go, we could click on it and get it directly from the email message that came for the comment!! Thanks, cuz I needed this!!
We use Cat Attract. Mom was using it before I was fixed, because I had a nasty habit of marking my territory (I was almost a year old till I was fixed). We also used Feliway but that did not have much impact. Mom will still add Cat Attract to our boxes because every once in a while because Someone (not me) about once every two months, decides to re-scent the upstairs hallway.
We use the Cat Attract with non-scented scoopable litter, any brand, and it seems to work. Mom has put it in some boxes and not others and the ones that have the Cat Attract do get used harder.
Tink's Mom, your probably like Mom, kinda worried about making a good coexistence. Zach can be bossy.
Here's where Mom was on the Humane Society page, lots and lots
of info here too.
Thanks, Zoe!! Mom is a little worried because I am such a people-cat, and I've had really bad experiences with other animals. But we think because Snow is so little & non-threatening, it will be okay. She is getting a calming collar, and all my reject-toys are coming back out for washing. Snow is only about a third of the size of me.
Mom read where Feliway can be put on sofa corners to save them. That's what got her attention. Mom is going to uglyfy the sofas for right now with tin foil. She read that works too. Mom has got so much retraining to do, it's nuts.
She knows the kit will be around longer than us, cross your paws, so she wants him to be a well mannered chap. Plus she dreams of a sofa she doesn't have to hide under throws anymore. She really ought to take a pic of Zach's destruction! See, Mom and Dad had these sofas back when Joe was still alive and he would scratch on an occasion. Mom thinks Joe's scent is what got Zach started.
Ps- yes we have scratchers everywhere.
Also, to keep them off "No" surfaces you can use double-sided tape. They hate for their paws to be sticky!!
Tink, it helps that Snow is a he. It's worth a try.
Mom- I know I fell like I need a new kit like a hole in my head but he is so cute! I'm worried Zach will be mad. He was so standoffish with all of us for such a long time when Diamond moved in. But he likes her now.
Mom's getting me a calming collar and maybe that would help Zach too.
That's how I got them to try their hairball medicine at first, Tink. By putting it on their front paws. Now they beg for it when the see the tube.
Okay, I need double sided tape, another Stainless Steal food bowl, a harness(yes, we are going to train this one to a harness when he is young), Cat Attract, tin foil, Feliway, and Mommy some Zanax.
not much, Zoe. Daddy got the last of the units ( Toilets) down there this afternoon, and is TRYING to trpe this with Spot on his lap sleeping!!! MOL!
Me with a calming collar! Do they make them manly, all the ones I've seen are girly. What's the link Tink?
Zoe, don't forget the excederin for mom!!
MOL, Zoe!! You just reminded me I should harness train Snow because he is deaf, so outside he wouldn't have all the same self-protection instincts. He will definitely get chipped right away, though!!
Zach was laying on the laptop earlier himself. Mom had a bad day at work today too. She had to do three jobs, she's exhausted but she doesn't want to take a nap. Catster to the rescue!
Daddy says he thinks Snow may be only partly deaf. It appears he can hear some sounds, especially loud ones
It is pricey, $32.00, but this is the one that is working so well for Katerina, at TeddyBearz' house.
Know a local shelter, one of the smaller poorer ones do the tattoo. Mom was thinking of getting Diamond a tattoo along with her chip. Mom figures Diamond couldn't lose a tattoo like the chip tag or the whole collar. They don't tattoo cats, I don't think. But Griswold will be getting a chip, most definitely.
Thanks Tink! Yes, that's sarcasm.
Blizz, that's good news about Snow.
It's a good thing to have on hand anyway - you just keep it in a zip bag if you're not using it. It would be a good thing for anycat in case they are ever seriously injured, especially like Bruce the Boss was last week.
The more Snow hears, the better for Tink because, of course, she won't understand deafness. But I'll give it whatever it takes for them to adjust, and fortunately I can be here most of the time. I also work at the clinic a block away, and they will get a lot of care from them. For example, they cover any of the work I can do, so if I take the blood(in the office, of course) they will absorb the cost of the tests. I can't do the neutering surgery, but I can assist and get a discount. So this really helps me sleep at night!! I also have a neighbor in the next apartment with two cats, she's really a cat lover and has been a sitter for Tink. My mom is a mile away and she took care of Tink when Nana got sick. And of course Tink's bestie, Pastor Mike, with whom she has a love/hate relationship(MOL!) So we're lucky to have SO much support for when Snow comes. They are gonna LOVE him!!
Heehee, If I get one Diamond gets one! Mom had no idea they made calming collars for doggies. Maybe, Diamond will ask around on dogster and see how they work.
Daddy wishes he had the camera handy a second ago!! Snow was sleeping on the edge of the chair, and PLOP!! off he goes! Looks around all startled, hopped back in the chair and went right back to sleep!!! MOL!!
I have seen tattoos on cats, just a little mark on the inside of their ear, but I think a chip is enough. It doesn't really matter as much anymore if they lose the collar, chipping is now common enough that they are checking for it routinely and sooner!
"I meant to do that!!" MOL!!
Sounds like Tink has a great support group. And you've got perks at work that any pet owner would dream of.
Sense Zach was a shelter kit he was neutered at 3 months. Even though Doc didn't think he was 3 months cause he hadn't gotten his adult teeth yet. That is one way around waiting to late and your cat spraying your house. Whats your thoughts on early neutering?
Zach has everybodies love, he's the baby. They even like him better than Diamond because she's demanding when it comes to play. I have Grandma and my little human sis Jorie (who calls me Ashley), and Dale (Mom's crazy friend from the bayou) I'm their favorite. Oh and of course Mom and Dad.
I am in support of early spay & neuter, 3 mos to 6 mos. For a female, you no longer have to wait for the first heat. Heat in females & spraying in males is a huge pain to deal with!!
Good one Tink. When Zoe does that it reminds me of this commercial...
Remember this one from the 2009 Super Bowl Blizz?
link copy and paste don't work. takes you to youtube main page
We's been using Feline Pine but my sisfur Missy still poopies & peepees outside the box when the litter isn't to her liking, GRRRRRRR!! Griswold sounds Pawsome Meowmy just luvs the National Lampoons vacation movies!!
"Yah, I'm good!!" MOL!
Dang it! Mo was always so good at links till the flea issue.
Let me try again, it might be a funky you tube thing. Lets try this one..duh Mom! It was right there under SHARE!
Duh me! http://youtu.be/GkgZFI4ZT0I
Hey guys. please leave some purrayers for Bonniebell #789891. her human dad is having quadruple bypass surgery tomorrow, and they have to do ti the hard way. Purrs needed
Oreo, it's family tradition that nobody watches Christmas Vacation till the night the tree goes up. Of course Grandma and Grandpa broke the tradition two years ago and last year they both had the nasty stomach flu around that time.
Oreo, some cats are just picky. Mom has found out that if she sweeps up the litter Zach kicks out then I'm more likely to pee in the litter box. I just see litter on the floor and pssssss
I was neutered at 5 1/2 months and Lacey was spayed around 5 months before mom got her at the shelter.
Both worked for us, but then we use it straight from the email accompanying the comment, too.
Mom is having SO much trouble with links lately!! Catster has always thrown in a random blank space that totally messes it up, and it only does it between "edit diary" and "publish"!!
But it's all been worse lately!
Tink. Mom says she likes the Jolly Roger for me.
Hey Finn. So glad to see you. I think you look so big and handsome in your new pic.
Tink that reminds me, who's Bruce the Boss?
Blizz, our prayers are there! We had a friend that had one last Christmas, he had a cold and it was killing him to cough. Mom said he kinda asked for it, he was a champion weightlifter in his youth, if you get my drift. Plus, he ate fatten stuff all the time!
It took Mom awhile to warm up to all the skulls and bones trend but now she thinks it's cute. Plus it's manly. She does kinda like the Key West purple. Maybe we should ask to get them to match our eyes. One poopie brown Calming Collar for me, please.
Hi Zoe, thanks! Mom picked me up the other day and said "HOLY MOLY YOU ARE A BIG BOY!" MOL. I think I grew some more overnight. This is our friend Bruce
Bruce fell through a window in his mom's greenhouse and got injured badly!
We're purring for him and for BonnieBell's daddy!!
Oh no! That's horrible.
Please tell me his spine isn't broken. Mom says that's the saddest sight she's ever seen.
No, but he's just lucky! He sliced two tendons and I think he has a broken leg & they are looking for a break in the pelvis. He had surgery already, but they are having trouble keeping him from freaking out.
I imagine so. He was lucky. We sent him a power of the paw, told him our friends Tink and Finn told us about his accident.
He has still got a lot of healing to do. The Tendons will give him problems way beyond the breaks. We had a dog named Danny, who was hit by a car and had a broken pelvis, Doc fixed him up but we had to keep him confined for awhile. That's when we found out he was starting to get Hip Dysplasia. He walked fine afterwards but his hips were giving out on him a couple years latter. Very sad. Stupid puppy mills and greedy breeders. I'm glad we don't have those problems in the cat world. Or maybe we do.
just read an article on msn.com bout a "shelter" in Alachua co, fl. the cats were in a wharehouse!! 700+. said it was in the top 3 hording cases of all time! 100 has to be put to sleep. Poor kitties!! "shelter" owners we arrested and charged with cruelty. Hopes dey throw de book at them!
I hope so too. Mom read a sad story not long ago about the cops shooting the animals that were to be put down!
We are fighting and losing to get our shelters (poorer ones again) to quit gasing the animals. Injection is the only humane way.
Okay, enough with the sadness. Yes I know I started it! But if I don't stop I'll climb up on my soap box.
Okay, here is a link to a pretty funny video:
that was so cool, I've got to try that!
kudos for your Mom getting the link to work!
OHC! A diary hijack! YAY!
I don't seem to have time for anything since you know who arrived!
We were also worried about our friend Bruce.
Not to mention that catster is flea ridden again, still?
What's with removing links? Is that some new rule or just fleas?
So you guys are all over the place tonight..
Yeah, TB, just a general get-together-by-accident!
Hi Tink! I was off watching the Yoga video. How cute is that!
Thanks for sharing.
By the way if your moms are on FB, you can see Bruce. He is home and in a crate. His mom's name is Sue Bailey. She is very nice. Send her a friend invite.
Did I clear the room or what? MOL
Anyway, I gots to go.
Have a nice evening guys!
TB your so sweet for letting us know about her FB page. You got any kitty worries are you set now. Zach just sent Kat a pic. And Tink he uploaded his pic for you too!
I hope you don't mind him calling her Little Bite sized Kit Kat
What! TB! Stop!
TB, sorry, Zoe & Zach were gone & mommy had to dry her hair. We're back now but she's trying to get some stuff done in betweenies!!
Zach, as long as you call me SugarBum, I don't mind what you call anybuddy else!!
Got it SugarBum! Have you seen my pic yet?
Mom has been putting off changing out the laundry for two hours now. Can you say cold wrinkled clothes. That's normal around here sense Catster has came into our life.
LOVE the pic, Zach!!
So I had to come back!
Everything is really great. Kat seems to be bipolar. When the cc(calming collar) is on she is one of us. Her fave seems to be Ollie to bully and to groom when she has the CC on.
Bite sized Kit Kat? How could anyone mind? It is pawsitively genius! Love it! Bet Kat does too!
Mom has had a leg up pose pic for awhile but I won't let her put it on my page.
Did we tell you we loved the video.
Tb maybe she 's got a crush on Ollie. Seriously, maybe at her young age, she's picked her mate! What it happens.
I love the pic too! Thank mew!
Excuse me bro, bipolar? WTM?
Zachie I loves my name. Bite sized Kit Kat! OMC!
That is the sweetest! Although I many not be bite sized for long. Mom says I scarf down food.Grew and gained weight since I have been here. My fur got all shiny too!
I am a lot like Ollie. We love our eats. I steals his food.(Karma is a b---h! MOL)
Mom wants to know how does one feed 4 kitties in the same room?
Dude! A mate? No way, Jose! I do not do mates! MOL
You know Mom seen somewhere how two feed two cats different foods, answer separate rooms. I know that's a pain. I read that if your kit is eating the older cats food feed all four kit food till time to change.
Well, little boys pick on little girls they are crushing so..........I shot from the hip Kit Kat
I would feed the two "inhalers" in one room, and the other two in another room.
We have our favorite sides at the dinner table but sometimes...I might start in Zoes bowl. Now we have the kit to figure out. Or bowls are up off the floor so Diamond won't eat or food so do we make him a ladder? Just kidding.
Yea, I think kittens as young as your little bro need to eat in a separate room.
I do have my breakfast in the bedroom. The two inhalers, Tink, you have a way with words!
We eat the same food. Merricks Before Grain which is for all stages of life.
Mom is trying to teach us to stick to our BOWLS
I would say good luck with that!
Well, at least you and Ollie aren't to far apart age wise. Oh btw what a mouth on you little one. But it is a female dog. MOL!
He's coming home at the end of next month. Mom is going to try to schedule a vacation day the weekend we get him.
Daddy, is very very mad. It's about his business, so Mom is going to go calm him down.
Love ya already. Smooch for the bite sized Kit Kat.
Zoe says she'll be here, if anybody comes up with anymore suggestions or questions about kittens. It's Kittens-R-Us! That's it change the title!
Hey I lived on the street. Yea, I got a mouth! Mom says I am bit a rough around the edges.
Can't have mad daddies! Go kiss your daddy, Zach!
I got to go too. I have thank yous to send out and mom says she has had enough!
Love ya too, Zachie!
Bite sized Kit Kat
Good night, guys! See you tomorrow, I hope.
Good night, EFURBUDDY!! I'm going too, Mom has to get some things done!! Luv, Tink
I like Griswold too - luv the Christmas Vacation movie!
Hey my BFF just wanted to pop in and say again how very excited we all are about your new kitten, please try and "mother" him you know how scary a new place can be.
BTW we just love the name Memphis.
What? what is this I hear of a kitten? I think this means we are super far behind on reading posts... Mom says she'll have to catch up at work tonight if it's not busy! We saw you talking about tattoos a little earlier, I'm not sure if it is the same down there as it is up here, but most cats get tattoos up here. Moppie and I plan on getting ours when we are neutered.
Mom says at work the first thing they check for is a tattoo! Sometimes they are hard to read but they are done. We also check for microchip but we find that they aren't done as often as tattoos.
Hey little Blade! It's good to know they do tattoo kitties. Hate to say it but some people aren't smart enough or too lazy to take a kit just to check for a chip. Sad but true.
Glad to see you guys! His pic is on my page.
Wow, quite a conversation here. It'll be fun to have a new kitten! Hope all goes well with the little one.
