Satelitte view of April 14th storms
"One of the largest single-system tornado outbreaks in United States history occurred from April 14 to 16, 2011, resulting in at least 155 confirmed tornadoes across 14 states and severe destruction on all three days of the outbreak. A total of 38 people were killed from tornadoes and an additional five people were killed as a result of straight-line winds associated with the storm system." quote from Wikipedia.
It was the worst outbreak till last night.
God how we weep, for the fathers and mothers who lost their children, young and old, kids who became orphans , the animals who lost their fight againist the storms or are just simply lost. We feel for the new homeless population of the United States. We purr and woof that their hearts are healed and filled with the need to pull up their boot straps and begin rebuilding. That they smoothly go from shock to devastated to determination. Helping one another is the best healer. May they find their way through this nightmare with peace.
Asking that all kitties and doggies whether you believe in God or not, whether you believe in miracles or not take a moment of silence for the 300 people who lost their lives yesterday in the deadliest storm sense 1974 and don't forget the others who have perished over the last couple weeks in 15 different states.
Why all the storms this year? heres the answer
Our purrayers go out to all affected and we're SO glad you guys are okay!!! Luv, Tink
Tink, we are so glad you guys are okay. We could have been hit hard too you know but some how we didn't.
To our friends that aren't friends with Blizzard his diary has info on "check ins" to let your friends know you are okay.
We add our prayers, too, and we, also, are
glad you all are okay!
Love, hugs, & purrs-
~Tundra & The Gang~
Dang, he forgot to post the link to Blizzards' diary
I'm so glad that you are ok. We were so worried about you kitties. We're purring for all those in the path of these storms. This is so heartbreaking.
Lots and lots of purrs from us. Tornadoes sound very scary. May many purrs.
Thanking God you are all ok and sending out prayers for all the familes that lost loved ones and homes in the storms. Moma has leaking eyes and a hurting heart for the victims.
Zach the link doesn't take us anywhere!
Sam, they are very scary. You can lose your home, your car, your family members and your pets in a 5 min. period. Most of the Tornadoes were moving at 50 to 75 mph. Imagine a car plowing through your house at 60 mph, okay know imagine it being a mile wide. It would take your whole neighborhood out. That's what they are like.
In N.C., we don't usually have mile wide Tornadoes but a half a mile wide tornado happened last year in our city. 50 some houses were damaged if not completely destroyed, maybe two miles up the road from our house.
Finn I'm sorry about the link. Mom is typing like crazy and probably miss spelling and all kinds of things. She's trying to send out pmails to friends.
She didn't double check the link connections, sorry.
How about this.. paste and copy

Well that explains it, Mother Nature is bipolar!
Did you see where it says this weather guy predicts next week to be INSANE severe weather? how can you get more insane than yesterday? I don't want to know!
Finney, if you look at the date...he wrote that last week, ( thank catness ), so next week was this week!!! He hit it on the head!!!
Phew! You're right Tig. Thank catness. Wow, he's pretty good at predicting these things then. Wish he hadn't been right though.
Here's a link about it from NZ I'm not sure how correct it is
http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/world/9276137/t ornadoes-and-storms-rip-u-s-south-at-least-259-dea d/
But it sounds shocking
It's correct Sam. That's Reuters news service that put it out, they're worldwide. And unfortunately not only is it correct but the total number of deaths is already outdated. Nearing 300 now and still counting. They said on the weather channel last night that debris was being tossed 100 miles away from the spots hit! Can you even imagine that? So if someone gets sucked out of their house, they may not even find them in that same county! Ugh, it's horrific, just horrific.
Finn, have you seen pictures of boards sticking out of the side of houses where the tornadoes catapult debri in the air. Think about it, if a board hits the side of your house going 130 mph it's going to become part of your house.
Sam thinks for the news link, Finn's right, they had it alright but the death toll.
I would hate to be picked up by a tornado. I pray that those poor people had heartaches in seconds of being picked up.
Oh, we're so happy you and your family are ok!
Purring for all those hit by those terrible tornados and storms.
Mom just went into the other room to watch the nightly news and came back in tears. Beyond incredible and heartbreaking.
I told our friends in Aus. NZ and in Japan that the feeling of coming together as a country to help one another is always the blessing that proceeds events like this.
We have been collecting clothing, food, and money for the victims here from the Tornadoes two weeks ago.
Remember after 9/11. When people felt drown to help. We helped As the people not the individuals of the United States, went to donate blood. We all watched the tv for countless hours in shock of the towers going down. I remember running to the grocery store on 9/11 and everyone smiled at each other, it wasn't a happy smile but it was a "I know how you are feeling smile"
I wish that feeling would just STAY and it didn't take disasters to bring it back.
I know, the world would be so much better. People would be happier in general.
Me(Mom) and David(Dad) help the widowers on our street every chance we get, they can't help that their husbands died without showing them how to do certain things around their homes and they send us, home cooked meals as thanks. Every had a true Southern Pecan Pie? Or strawberry cobbler?
Sending you an email.
Thank you for such a caring post, Zach. We are adding our purrs and purrayers to everyone affected and devastated by these storms. Last night on the National Geographic channel, Mom watched an hour long show on the tragedy in Japan ~ which was mostly all live video footage captured of the Tsunami. It was horrifying to watch. It's the same with these devastating storms here. We are all lucky and fortunate. Sending purrs and compassion to all who need it!!!
Sorry, he meant ZOE!
Gump, No prob. We've been thanking about you two a lot lately. Don't know why? Just have.
Somebody has a birthday coming up! Please tell me I haven't missed it.
Nadia, We hurt so much it makes our hearts ache. That's how we feel. If we could jump in the car and go help we would.
Hi Zoe, our b-days are coming up in June.
I know, it's heartbreaking. It's hard to make sense of some things like this. We have to care and feel and have deep compassion ~ it could always be us or someone we know in these tragedies. Thank you for caring...
I'm so glad you are doing okay. We are purring for the humans and animals who have lost their lives and the lives they left behind. We hope this is the end of the storms.
So happy you and your family are okay. Sending many purrs and prayers to all those affected by these storms. May they find some comfort and peace in the days to come.
Many hugs and purrs,
Simon & Reuben(an angel)
Sending purrs, prayers and hugs to everyone affected by these events.
Rex, Teebo and the Beautiful Simon, Thanks for your purrs. Lord knows Al. needs them, along with the rest of us southern states. As I said before, we are still trying to feed, and cloth the people how was affected by our tornadoes on Apr. 14th. It is such a slow process. Then they have to rebuild.
Thanks for purring, if you have a dog tell him to send a woof.
Sending purrs to all those affected by the tornadoes. I'm glad to hear that you are doing okay.
Tigger, thank you my dear friend. Say hey to Marmalade for Mommy, she thinks he's so cute.
